Congratulations Scarlett Johansson!
- Posted by Sarah on September 30, 2008 at 09:47AM

Over the weekend, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were married. According to People Magazine they had a small ceremony, just family and close friends, in British Columbia. No word yet on what Scarlett Johansson looked like but we're sure she was gorgeous as always (check her out at a recent movie premiere above).
Fragrance 101 -- Part Trois

To continue my story about the mystery that is fragrance production ...

Once the flowers are picked they must be processed in five to six hours before they rot. This means that immediately after the pickers are done with their two plus hours of morning picking, the flowers are weighed. This is a very important part for the pickers because they are paid by the weight of the flowers they pick. Again, this is all done with very old-school tools and methods.

Mul, the owner of the jasmine fields in Grasse took me through the entire process of how jasmine grows and gets picked, extracted and distilled. (Grasse, a beautiful yet simple farming town in France, is where many perfumers throughout history came to get supplies for scents.)
Fragrance 101 -- How Flowers Become Perfume
- Posted by Kristen on September 29, 2008 at 05:08PM

Ever wonder how your favorite scent ends up in a beautiful fragrance bottle at the department store? You'd be surprised to learn that the early stages of fragrance production are not as glamorous as you might think. I experienced this firsthand while visiting Grasse, France, the "world's perfume capital" (most famous for its rose and jasmine production). In the next couple of posts, I'll share the scoop on how raw materials like jasmine become perfume.

The Always-Gorgeous Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson really did hit the genetic lottery. She always has glowing skin and her hair looks great long, short, curly, wavy or straight. We'd love to hate her but she just seems too darn nice!
