Eye Intensifier Pencil is a jumbo eye liner pencil with a flexible smudger tip. Usually, I have to "prime" eye pencils before applying, by stroking them back and forth on the back of my hand: with this pencil, I don't have to. According to the website, "Special ingredient Nylon-12 expands and contracts with facial movements without creasing or cracking, guaranteeing durability and long-lasting coverage." I can't vouch for Nylon-12, but I can tell you that Eye Intensifier Pencil goes on very smoothly and lasts. Eye Intensifier Pencil is a winner.

L'Oreal has come out with its HiP high intensity pigmentsâ„¢ Kohl Eyeliner. At $12-13, it's nearly one-third the cost of Guerlain Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl Liner ($34.00), a similar product. When I first tried L'Oreal HIP Kohl Eyeliner icon, I had a lot of problems with smearing on my lower lids - as though I had some sort of Alice Cooper thing going on. At first, I thought that it might be the Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer that I was using. The Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer has a lot of slip, due to the presence of silicones. I switched to L'Oreal True Matchâ„¢ Super-Blendable Concealer icon, but had the same problem. With some experimentation, I learned how to work HiP high intensity pigmentsâ„¢ Kohl Eyeliner. Here's how: * Stroke the fine-tipped brush on the back of your hand to remove excess. * Apply. The brush enables you to get right at the root of your lashes. * To intensify or smudge the line, pick up the pigment on your hand with a chisel-head eyeliner brush, and smudge

The stick concealer is dryer than other stick concealers I've tried. I used Butter, which is indeed yellow, for light skin tones. This spring, Josie Maran has added two additional shades of concealer: Creme for very fair skin tones and Espresso for for rich/deep skin tones.

This lipstick went on slick, even wet, spread beyond the lips, and dried down to a lip stain finish, complete with a tingling sensation. I used Mysterious, described as a sheer wine, but it is deeper and more matte than shown on Josie Maran Cosmetics' website. On one hand, Mysterious seemed to shrink the size of my lips; on the other, it was so dark, it looked goth.

I use this product after applying my regular mascara to gently separate and remove excess mascara. It's less intimidating than a steel-toothed eyelash comb, and the brush is fuller than the usually whirlies sold for separating lashes. I haven't tried the mascara cartridge that comes with Spinlash: based on others' reviews, it's just as well.

I've tried others, but Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover is still my favorite eye makeup remover. The dual-phase solution removes all eye makeup and doesn't leave a greasy residue.

I'm prone to windburn, and I got a nasty case of it walking between the meeting place and the Metro stop on a particularly cold, blustery day last week. That's when LORAC Oil-Free Neutralizer was a godsend. I applied this yellow-green lotion to my face, let it dry, and then applied my regular foundation over that. Redness covered!

These sticks don't drag and apply very smoothly. You can apply these bronzers directly, using a light touch, or do what I do, which is to apply some to the fingertips and rapidly "tap" it onto the face to apply and blend. You may use The Multiple bronzer on the cheekbones and ridge of the nose (in other words, where the sun would hit your face) to give your face that "sun-kissed" look; alternately, you might use The Multiple bronzer for contouring the face. It comes in four shades for different skin tones.

Love the makeup, hate the applicator
Yves Saint Laurent PERFECT TOUCH Radiant Brush Foundation is lightweight yet it provides good coverage. It has a subtle luminescence that brightens the complexion. On the negative side, the makeup tends to separate and needs be to shaken before application. It takes some practice to squeeze just the right amount. I find the brush applicator a nuisance, as I blend foundation by stippling with my fingertips or with Beautyblender.

The hype surrounding TOUCHE ÉCLAT Radiant Touch is deserved. It features a subtle luminescence that brightens the eye area and other "shadows" on the face.
