My mom is in her early 50's and the gray hair is starting to really show up. I usually dye her hair whatever red colors I've bought on sale (I'm a coupon holic, but buy brands I already like and trust) and occasionally she will let me try something I'm not sure about out on her hair. (she has fun with it). Well, I picked out a more "subtle" color just for her - so if she went longer between dyes - it wouldn't be such a drastic color difference. I didn't want to do just a plain brown, but I didn't want a "light auburn, dark auburn and so on." I bought a couple colors to give her the choice and Garnier's #535 Medium Golden Mahogany Brown is what she choose. I do wish I would have left it on a bit longer to color the gray better - but, I know for next time. She has medium dark brown, straight brown hair naturally. It came out exactly as the color is coming in your mind as you read the label. I was pretty impressed. She was happy and so was her boyfriend! She has very long hair and two bottles lasted with plenty left over. (that rarely is enough) and I just wanted to share how much we liked the color. I didn't remember there being a lot of smell. Oh, and she and I are both extremely sensitive to certain aromas - so with the essential oil additive - I only added half of the amount to each bottle. Worked out perfectly for us.
