  • Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Liquid Soap

Dr. Bronner's liquid soap is really amazing! It has many uses. I love using this as a body soap because it really tingles, and you feel clean without drying out your skin. I also like to use this to clean my floors. It does an amazing job especially since there aren't any harsh chemicals in it. I would recommend using this for everything and anything! Your body and home will thank you! Try any of the scents but if you really want the tingle, the peppermint is the one to try!

  • Nars Sheer Matte Foundation

This is a truly matte product. If you fall in between two shades, I suggest going with the darker of the two if you tan or the lighter of the two if you will not be tanning. I had to purchase both as I was getting sun even with SPF 50. Mixing both to create a custom shade was a bit tricky but well worth it when I finally achieved the correct shade. This is one of the best matte foundations I have found in a while.

  • Dove Clinical Protection Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant Clear Tone Skin Renew

This is a great product in the sense that it really does lighten up the coloring of the underarms. My armpits were dark and I was getting unsatisfactory results from other products. I tried everything from baking soda scrubs to lemon juice! In less than three weeks, this product did what others could not; it lightened my armpits! Be aware that this is not really clinical in the sense that you can truly perspire through it in a matter of hours! (Which I did during the summer/workouts, and I don't perspire a great deal!) It does have little beads that disappear once you have been wearing it for a while, but be mindful that the first few applications may feel scratchy because of them. Use the recommended number of "clicks" though because you will end up with too much product and causing your skin to turn white from over-application.

  • Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Prime Primer

I've tried all three of the blurring primers. First, I'll start with the Blur and Illuminate. This was not my favorite of the bunch. I assure you that it does illuminate your skin, but if you tend to get oily, like I do, stay away from this. I looked so oily it was like I sprayed my face with glycerin to make it shine. I suggest using this on special occasions to illuminate your skin, otherwise, stay away. The second, Blur and Redness Control (green), does an alright job. I have some redness and this didn't quite do the job. As a primer, I was looking for something with a tad more staying power. My redness didn't disappear with this. My favorite out of the bunch is Blur and Smooth. This is the one that has done the best job! I've moved away from Stila's primer to this for everyday use! It helps blur my large pores and better yet keeps my foundation on for hours. I even use this as an eye primer when I'm too lazy to put on my Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Out of all three primers, I highly suggest using Blur and Smooth before using the other two.

  • Batiste Dry Shampoo

I love this dry shampoo! I bought it in two scents: floral and coconut. Let me just say that besides letting me stretch my blow out by a few days, the coconut scent is ridiculous (in a great way)! I have been using the coconut scent all summer and always get compliments about how great my hair smells. I have extremely dark hair and was cautious when I first used this. I really thought that since the spray was white, it would make my hair look white, filmy and dirty, like one of the previous dry shampoos did. I'm glad to report that Batiste didn't! It is the only one that did not give my hair that nasty look. One tiny little caveat is that I have to spray a shine serum because well my second/third day hair just looks dull (not because of Batiste). I still highly recommend this to anyone who wants to use dry shampoo. Make sure to keep one in your gym bag!

  • TRESemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo

I felt like my hair was super dry after using this. I've waited a few years to write this review thinking that all of the dry shampoos out there were the same. Boy, was I wrong! This is by far the worst dry shampoo I have ever tried. It did nothing for my dark curly hair and even left a white film! I would suggest trying some other brand like Batiste. Don't let this brand cloud your judgment when it comes to dry shampoos!

  • Burt's Bees Herbal Insect Repellent

I finally found something that will work on my skin and truly keep bugs away. I used this after being attacked the day before while on a trip to Mexico. I am always being bitten and then getting swollen because of them. The scent from this is really citrus like. It has lemongrass and peppermint, which surprise surprise biting bugs don't like! This is oily, but remember it consists of quite a few oils! The scent isn't overly powerful, but I would recommend that you apply this prior to putting on any clothes. The scent does dissipate, so no worries about smelling like a citrus fruit. I even used a vanilla musk and that came through stronger than the repellent! Trust me this is the best thing you can use for your bug filled nights! Your skin will thank you!

  • CoverGirl TRUblend Liquid Makeup

I thought that since CoverGirl had reformulated this, it would be the answer to my prayers. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Even though CoverGirl has changed the foundation and categorized them, it didn't help me find the correct shade. I wasn't a big fan of this or the concealer crayon that is in the same TruBlend range. Save your $10 and try another brand that might better suit your foundation needs.

  • Lancome Teint Miracle

I was matched by one of the personnel at Ulta, since they now carry Lancome. I was hoping that this would be just what I was looking for. Alas, this would make me unhappy and look like a weird mask lady! First, let me tell you that the application in store was flawless! (Why can't I ever recreate the finished look of my foundation?!) However, after maybe two hours, it started to look like a ridiculous orange color! What!? I just spent over $40 to look like a frickin' cartoon character?! I chalked it up to the weather and decided to give it another go. The next day, I tried it again hoping that I could recreate that smooth skin look. I did, somewhat. Again, after an hour, it turned this ghastly orange-y shade, mind you I have golden undertones so I looked really strange. Again, I chalked up the color change to my application this time and decided to try again. I did and it was for the last time. This time my skin looked ridiculous with this orange tinge due to the foundation. I think I'll pass on Lancome foundation in the future and stick to my Dermablend instead.

  • Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo

Yes, this may be a very great shampoo for severe dandruff, but yikes! The smell of this shampoo is so pungent and medicinal that it actually made me ill. Don't think that the scent is going to dissipate, because it doesn't, even after washing for a second time! Try using something like Nizoral that is strong with out that sickening smell!
