  • Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner

I keep this in my personal makeup stash and in my pro-kit. I love this gel liner. It stays put and doesn't smear even on allergy eyes or under hot lights. It glides on smoothly and is very easy to apply. When it dries it doesn't dry to a dry crackey finish like some other brands I've used, instead it dries to a nice flexible gel finish which gives it longer wear. The finish is a bit satiny so if you want it to be matte just dust a little matching matte eyeshadow powder over it while it's still setting and you'll have a perfect all day matte finish. Out of MAC gel liner, Maybelline 24 hour lasting gel eyeliner, stila smudgepots, smashbox gel liner, and Jane Iredale gel liner, this is hands down my favorite. I'd say MAC and Maybelline tie for close second.

  • Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

    Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

Conceals well but a bit gritty and dry

This is an excellent concealer if you are concealing oily spots like blemishes. It also works very well on age spots. I don't recommend it for undereye use. It is fairly heavy for a cream and has a drier grittier texture that can catch in fine lines. The drier grittier texture gives it good staying power though. As long as you understand that this isn't your go-to concealer for under eye concealing, you will have a good experience with this. I also don't necessarily recommend it for those with very dry skin. I love the color range and how portable the little pot is. I don't keep this one in my pro-kit due to the limited usage but for everyday wear I keep a pot of it around.

  • Abreva
    4.0

    Abreva

Overpriced for what you are getting

This is supposed to shorten the life of a cold sore. It does seem to limit the severity of the cold sore and it does shorten the time the cold sore is active but it isn't a miracle cure for cold sores. Even if you put it on the area you feel a cold sore popping up BEFORE the breakout, the sore will still pop up. I have had better luck with this if I goop it on then apply a small bandage to the site making the Abreva more effective. A better cold sore cure that is cheaper is taking Lysine tablets, avoiding cereal (the chemical they use to process it activates the virus that causes cold sores), and if you can find it, get yourself a small chunk of rhodonite. The minerals in the rhodonite stop the cold sore from popping up. You just hold the stone on the area you feel a cold sore popping up the moment you feel that first itching/tingling and the cold sore will never pop up. You want to hold it on there as long as you can (like while you are watching your favorite tv shows or reading) I've given this advice to at least 20 skeptical people and all 20 have tried it and become cold sore free. If you can't get lysine or rhodonite then by all means try the Abreva with a bandage over it.
