After discovering argan oil, I haven't gone back to using mass-produced face moisturizers made with synthetic filler ingredients. Argan oil is a simple one-ingredient natural moisturizer that nourishes my skin and protects it from dryness and flakes. I use it twice a day - once in the morning before going to work and once at night before going to bed. If you're new to argan oil, start by using a small amount, about one to two drops. This will allow your skin to adjust to the argan oil. What makes argan oil a great facial moisturizer is how well it absorbs into the skin. If you're wary of applying argan oil on your face, I suggest trying it on dry parts of your hands, arms, shoulders, elbows, and knees. I'm quite active and engage in outdoor activities often and this helps to maintain a satin look to my skin. Beta Naturals Pure Argan Oil is legitimately one of the best brands of argan oil I have tried - and I have tried quite a few including those produced by Josie Maran, John Masters, and Kae. Try it once and you may never go back to using moisturizers made with synthetic, petroleum-based ingredients.

Of all the Kiehl's body moisturizers, this is my favorite. It has a rich consistency and has a very pleasant honey scent. Kiehl's Imperial Body Balm is my go-to after-shower moisturizer. I use it everywhere - on my legs, back, arms, hips, and feet. I like that it contains sea buckthorn oil - a nourishing ingredient that can help minimize the look of fresh scars over time. A little expensive, but well worth it if you're willing to occasionally spoil yourself.

My first experience with Josie Maran Argan Oil was with a half-ounce sample from Sephora. I really like that it's an all-natural, preservative-free moisturizer without needless filler ingredients. I primarily use it as a skin moisturizer and occasionally to boost hair shine. The key to success with argan oil is how much you use. If you're a first-time user, apply just a drop or two to allow your skin to adjust to the oil. When applying to hair, do not apply directly. First apply and rub between the fingertips, then gently run fingers through ends of hair. I love Josie Maran Pure Argan Oil, but I do find it quite expensive. There are other less-expensive higher-quality alternatives such as Beta Naturals Pure Argan Oil and John Masters Argan Oil if you find Josie Maran out of your price range. One more thing, the argan oil is light, "dry," easily absorbed and not greasy. It makes for a fabulous nighttime face serum.
