I had my 2 teenagers try the Clean and Clear Advantage 3in1 Foaming Acne Wash. I ended up feeling horrible because this dried out and irritated both of their faces! Their skin started flaking off, but the pimples kept right on coming! I obviously had them stop using this, and their skin got way better! Now, I have them on Proactiv and all 3 of us use it! If we are consistent, you will get results!

My 15 year old daughter has been dealing with teenage acne for a couple of years now. I have had to use Proactiv to control my adult acne and it works well, as long as I am consistent! I picked up the University Medical Acne Free Clear Skin Treatment for her to try because it was supposed to work like Proactiv, but cheaper. Well, you get what you pay for! This system cannot replace or work as well as Proactiv. This system left my daughter's skin more irritated with more breakouts than ever before. This system is sub par! If you need an acne program that works, you will have to stick with Proactiv. Her skin started clearing back up the minute I had her change!

I used the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash for a long time and found my skin drying out. I have sensitive, acne prone, combination skin and this made my oily spots more oily and my dry spots got really, really dry. I had to switch to Proactiv at 33 years old for my adult acne issues!

I tried the Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel for my adult acne and saw no results. It did not affect my breakouts at all! I have found the Origins "On the Spot" salicylic acid treatments not only treat the breakouts but it also heals them as well!

Most of the Clean & Clear products are over drying and cause more issues than it helps! This spot treatment turned breakouts into sores and dried out the surrounding skin as well. Not for me or my 2 teenagers!

My family has gone through every formula offered by Herbal Essences. We run into the same problem every time...build up. The first 2 or 3 times the shampoos and conditioners worked great and then they starting building up and giving all 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers) oily roots, flakes, and frizzy ends. I know a lot of people love Herbal Essences but we don't anymore based on experience.
