  • Chanel Collection Essentielle De Chanel Multi-Use Make-up Palette

My boyfriend got me this in Soleil for Christmas, and wow, it is probably one of the best presents I've ever gotten. At first I thought all the tones were a bit too warm for me in the winter, but that's before I discovered how well all the colors blend! I use this product almost every single day. Love love love. Here's my opinion of all the items in the palette. 1) Eyeshadows - one yellow champagne, one pink, one copper, and one brown. The lighter colors are all extremely sheer, especially the yellow, but they are buildable and blendable. The brown shade is my favorite and is not as sheer as the other colors but it isn't excessively rich in pigment either. And they all go quite nice together. 2)Bronzer - I usually hate bronzer and think it's gaudy, but this shade is subtle and gorgeous. I use it on my cheeks as a blush and put a bit on my forehead, the bridge of my nose, and my jawline to help highlight my bone structure. It looks warm yet natural. LOVE. I might have to go buy this on its own. 3) Lipsticks - one reddish and one pink. They are both very warm tones. The red has an orange undertone to it, so I find that it's quite difficult to wear alone, but blended with the other colors it adds a bit of punch. The pink is a salmony color that I also don't like to wear alone, but I like it blended with the glosses a lot. These lipsticks do not have any shimmer to them. 4) Lip glosses - both sheer and shimmery. One is orange-goldish and the other is yellow-goldish. Look gorgeous alone or blended with the other lip shades in the pack. There are just a few things that would make this even better - 1)lower price. I'm glad I got this as a present. 2) If there were a powder foundation too because then it would be absolutely complete, and 3) if the application tools were included in the compact instead of with the velvet case that comes with it.

Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Cream

    Great moisturizer, feels like luxury

I normally use Lancome's Aqua Fusion Cream with SPF 15, but in the winter I found that my cheeks and forehead were getting extremely dry and tight. So I went to the Lancome counter and asked them what they recommended. Since I'm only 22, I didn't need any of the anti-aging creams, so it was between this and Hydra Zen. I chose Bienfait mostly because it has SPF and it was a bit richer than Hydra Zen, and I liked the idea of all the vitamins...I don't know if it's all talk or not, but I figure it can't hurt. In any case, I'm very pleased with my purchase! The cream is very rich and feels diviiiine, and I love the light floral scent. And of course, it does a great job or moisturizing! Unfortunately, now that it's coming into spring, I'm finding it a bit too heavy for my combination skin, so I'm alternating between this and Aqua Fusion. But I think for people with very dry skin this one's a winner.

Lancome Aqua Fusion Cream SPF 15

    Light yet incredible moisturizer

This moisturizer is so counter-intuitive, but in a good way. The consistency, which is very light, makes you think that it can't possibly hydrate your skin for more than 15 minutes, but it works all day! Even in a dry hot eastern Washington summer, this stuff was amazing. It also smells great and feels so refreshing on your skin. Plus it has SPF! The only complaint I have is that it's not heavy enough for my skin in the deep throes of winter, but for most of the year it's what I use.

  • Clinique Almost Lipstick

    Clinique Almost Lipstick

The one lipstick I keep in my purse

I've been using this lipstick in Black Honey for at least 10 years now. As other reviewers have said, it looks scary dark in the tube but goes on as a sheer berry. The only thing that sucks is that it doesn't last very long, which is such a shame because the color is heaven. I have found that staining my lips with the color works though - I put on a few coats of the color, blot with a tissue, apply one or two more coats, and then blot again. Voila, your lips are stained with the beautiful color, and it will last a bit longer than a regular application. The other thing I love about this lipstick is that it's really hydrating. It feels more like a balm than a lipstick, which is great for my perpetually chapped and dry lips!

  • Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer

    Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer

Been using this since I was 14

My mom took me to the chanel counter when I was 14 and bought me my first Chanel product: Chanel Glossimer in Spark. It's a great sheer, pinky red with flecks of gold sparks in it. It's got a good texture: it's a bit sticky, but hey, it's a gloss, but it doesn't feel heavy, gloopy, or waxy on the lips. It lasts for a long time too, although the shine fades from glossy and sparkly to a nice, subtle sheen, even after eating. I would say it lasts for about 3 or 4 hours, which for a gloss is pretty amazing. Also, with this stuff, less is definitely more. I usually go through a tube every year or two because I don't have to use very much of it to get the effect I want. It's pretty pricey for a lip gloss, but it's the one I use the most, so it's worth it!

  • Yves Saint Laurent Beauty BABY DOLL Eau de Toilette Spray

've always thought this smelled like roses, but it is mixed with some sort of citrus. It's a very fresh scent, and always reminds me of spring, even though I don't wear it too often now - I prefer heavier, amber or spicy type scents. But if I ever want something more playful and light, this is a great choice. The one thing that's a bit annoying is the bottle shape...I always feel like it's going to roll off my dresser or something.

  • Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat All-Over Brightening Pen

This might be one of the most over-hyped products out there - or maybe I just don't get it. I have fairly bad undereye circles, so after hearing about the miracle this thing does for them, I gave it a try. Well, first of all, it's way too sheer to cover my circles, which really aren't THAT bad. Second, the formula is way too sheer, either for undereye circles or for zits. Thirdly, the shade selection is dismal - the shade I had was too light for zits and undereye circles, and just brought more attention to them, but the other shade was too dark. And for the cost of the thing, that's just too many problems! Alright, so maybe it's primary purpose isn't as a concealer per se, but I find its highlighting qualities to be rather blah. The only thing I ever used it for was on the bridge of my nose, which it did make seem miraculously smaller. But that's not enough for it to live up to the hype.

  • Eucerin Original Healing Soothing Repair Lotion

Eucerin Original Healing Soothing Repair Lotion

I refuse to use any other lotion!

Absolutely NO OTHER LOTION can match the hydrating power of this stuff. I just apply some in the morning as I'm getting ready for the day, and again at night before I go to sleep, and that's it. With other lotions, my skin would go dry in an hour or two. When I was a teenager I had severe atopic dermatitis, on top of very dry and sensitive skin, and a dermatologist recommended this product to me. Even though the dermatitis went away (yay!) I still keep using this lotion. However, it is quite heavy for a lotion, and it's a bit greasy for a few minutes after you apply it. But it's a different kind of "greasy" than other lotions that for some reason isn't so bad - maybe I've just gotten used to it (and it gives off that super-model sheen!). I recommend this lotion to all my friends, but I would say it's especially good for people with dry and/or sensitive skin.
