  • Maybelline New York Intense XXL Volume & Length Waterproof Microfiber Mascara

I never really ever liked Maybelline mascaras, as I felt that they just took the curl right out of my asian stick-straight lashes that always need to be curled before applying mascara. I don't wear mascara on a regular basis, but when I do, it's gotta be waterproof. This was on sale at the drugstore, and I didn't feel like paying an extra $3 for L'Oreal, so I gave this a shot. I actually really like the result! The trick is to apply LOTS of the white microfibres, and then give it a minute or two to dry, before applying the black mascara. It actually gave me the look of of fake eyelashes! I wore it through a sweaty, high-intensity aerobic workout (45 minutes) and it lasted the whole thing, no flaking, smudging, and it kept the curl. I compared it to L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof (on the other eye), and I think that the 2 steps makes the lashes longer by a bit more than simply mascara alone. Both lasted throughout the workout, but one is a little extra work to apply. If you've got the time, the result is worth it! :)

    Benefit Dr. Feelgood

    Didn't do it for me

I bought this only because of a pushy saleslady-- god I hate sales pressure! Anyway, this is overpriced lemon-scented wax in a jar. I've tried using it many ways, and I swear every way it ends the same-- my face feels hot and just "stuffy" with this stuff on, and I can't wait to wash it off. I didn't think it helped with oil at all and I think it cause me to breakout. Let's just say it was bad enough for me to throw out this practically brand new tin, at $35.

  • Meaningful Beauty The Complete Meaningful Beauty System

I only purchased the mask, Maintenance 1+ and Maintenance 2 from ebay-- I had heard horrible things about Guthy-Renker, so I didn't want to deal with the auto-shipment. I like all three products, and find they work very well together. The 1+SPF20 lotion is lightweight and moisturizes without being greasy at all so I love that. Maintenance 2 leaves my skin feeling really velvety without grease as well. I didn't find that mask particularly astounding, but it was nice all the same, for a pretty decent price. I probably won't repurchase just because there are a slew of other treatments out there, waiting to be tested! :) I am only 21, btw, so I don't really need hardcore anti-aging/anti-wrinkle lotions and creams yet, but I think this would be good for prevention.

  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion Night

I've been using this product for the last 4 months, and I think it's pretty good for the price ($16/2.5 oz). It has 8% glygolic acid in it, and I think it's oil free (I could be mistaken). It comes in a good-sized bottle that fits easily into my toiletries bag, and has a convenient pump bottle. I don't mind the fragrance, and I like how this lotion glides on my skin easily, and absorbs fairly quickly with minimal shine. I use this to help keep zits at bay and speed up fading of hyperpigmentation marks left behind from past zits.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Powder

I have this in W2, which is an ok match for my NC25-30 tone, but I think I could've gone for N1 to be honest. This powder isn't particularly good for oil control, but it does make your skin look better than if it was bare. It offers sheer to light coverage depending on how you apply it. I use a MAC187 brush to apply in layers to build coverage to that of a light/sheer powder foundation, and I think it's ok. It offers enough coverage of even zits, if you layer enough. I've tried using it also with a damp/wet sponge (some people use it as a sheer foundation), and I think it works also fairly well in that regard. This is not for people wanting heavy coverage. But it helps to even out skin tone, for a nice natural look, which is what I wanted Staying power is alright-- a few hours, before needing to blot. I found it expensive ($15 at the drugstore), and the packaging is neat. I like the separation between powder and puff. However, I feel that the CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Pocket Power outperforms this powder in all aspects for cheaper ($8), so I probably wouldn't buy this again.
