I have battled with my dry, sensitive skin since puberty. I didn't find out until my early 20's that I actually had dry, sensitive skin and not acne prone like I thought. Turns out all the products I was using were causing my face to break out and turn red and flaky because they were too harsh! DUH My doctor recommended Cetaphil and gave me a little sample to try out. After a couple of days using it twice a day the results were very noticeable; I no longer had any redness or breakouts and my pores were more refined! So I headed off to the nearest drug store and bought the biggest size I could get which was going to cost $10 CAN. It is one of the bigger ones with the old logo, the one with all blue. I find that it takes off my makeup and mascara wonderfully, despite other reviews. However, I only wear a tinted moisturizer, blush and minimal eye products so that could be why it removes so well. It doesn't matter what the reason is. Cetaphil changed my skin and they have another lifetime user! ----------------------------- EDIT: wasn't helping my skin the least bit. Still breaking out and lots of redness. Discontinued it and went on to something else. Might be better for someone who has normal skin that isn't prone to blemishes

I love MAC Select Tint for my dry, sensitive skin. A lot of foundations out there are super drying and irritating, but despite MAC's claims that it's oil free, it seems to hydrate my skin and keeps it from looking dull. I purchased it for $30CAN in NC20. Select Tint is more of a moisturizing foundation as it has more coverage than a typical tinted moisturizer. The bottle is a soft, squeeze design and it makes dispensing easier than typical foundation bottles! I just squeeze a little onto the hand I'm not applying it with and use my foundation brush to apply and blend. It effectively covers redness and helps conceal blemishes and bags so you don't have to overdo the concealer. It blends easily and wears the whole day! I've been through tons of foundations and tinted moisturizers and had yet to find one that didn't wear off by the end of the day. MAC is long-wearing, even under warm conditions and doesn't streak when you sweat! Because my skin is sensitive, I usually react to a lot of products out there and Select Tint doesn't have any of the irritants that a lot of makeup has. Definetly will re-purchase!

There are times when I wished I lived in the states: buying beauty products in Canada can cost you twice the amount! Forking out $63CAN for my first jar of Day Wear Plus was well worth it though. I got it based on recommendations from a dermatologist's book, The Skin Type Solution. I have dry, sensitive skin that reacts to just about every irritant out there and makes buying beauty products a real pain. Once I opened the jar I immediately smelled cucumber. If you love cucumber, you're going to love this! Cucumber is a soothing, redness-relieving ingredient that very few moisturizers contain. Word of advice: A little goes a long way! A dime sized amount or so should cover your entire face...seriously! Money is well spent on this jar and it should last at least 6 months! The cream absorbs quickly and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy, oily or looking shiny. Immediately after applying, my skin seems to soften up and "plump out". It really helps bring out the radiance and glow in my skin, and the SPF 15 helps too! I know a lot of people gripe about jars and how unsanitary they are, but if you really think about it, you put your fingers in the jar after you've washed your face, right? I find that with a jar I can decide how much or how little I need to use, instead of a pump deciding on that for me. I will definetly repurchase this again, but around the bonus time! ---------------------- EDIT: discontinued using this product as the ingredients started breaking down once exposed to the air and my skin started breaking out. would have been better if it was packaged in a pump jar instead.

I purchased this after I ran out of my Roche Posay Toleraine moisturizer. I didn't want to spend another $25 on a teeny moisturizer and read that Cetaphil's Moisturizing Cream works just as well and you get 4x as much! I bought the tub at Wal Mart and paid $21CAN for it. I use it at night only because it is quite rich and would be too oily for daytime use. I have dry, sensitive skin that reacts instantly to irritating products. Cetaphil, however, seems to work well with my skin and its appearance and texture has changed dramatically since. Word of advice: A little goes a long way! The cream seems to be quite hard packed into the jar, but a fine sweep of your fingers over the cream will cover your face. I have had mine for a month and have barely made a dent; This could last a year! I have also used it on some dry patches on my body and the cream is wonderful. It absorbs quickly on my face and body, and doesn't leave me feeling oily or greasy. It soothes the driest skin and is even good on rashes to relieve itching! Like I mentioned in my review for the Sensitive Skin cleanser, Cetaphil is going to be the only brand I turn to for skin care from now on. It's definetly a life-saver.

I picked up this lip balm after reading it in the newest Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me by Paula Begoun and saw it was one of her picks in the Best Lip Balm with SPF category. I had been trying to find a decent lip balm with SPF that didn't taste like wax, wasn't thick, didn't taste awful and provided decent SPF protection. This product is targeted to men but I picked it up anyway because of the recommendation in the book. It's a typical tube lip balm with a simple cap. The product itself was sort of clear and had a pleasant smell to it - nothing overly perfumed. It went on smoothly and wasn't heavy at all and didn't taste either. It didn't feel like I had to reapply constantly, though after eating and drinking it did feel like it disappeared a bit. Definetly my new HG balm!

I have been using this cleanser for about a week now after reading the newest Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me by Paula Begoun and read that it was a Paula's Pick. I had been using Cetaphil's Sensitive skin face wash and it was just ok, nothing fabulous, didn't irritate my skin but wasn't performing wonders. I headed up to the nearest London Drugs and picked up a tube of this cleanser for $6CAN and started using it that night. I squeezed out a dime sized amount and rubbed it between my hands to spread the cleanser before applying it to my face. It foamed just a little bit, nothing too rigorous for sensitive skin, but enough to feel clean. It made my skin feel calm, clean and moisturized all at the same time and didn't leave a film on my skin like a lot of cleansers can do. So far my skin hasn't broken out or turned red from the cleanser and has actually removed makeup better than Cetaphil! Maybe that's why my pimples never quite disappeared... The cleanser is super gentle and lists all the ingredients on the back so you can check for any irritants that it may contain. It is absolutely fragrance free and dirt cheap - a little goes a long way!!! I definitely recommend this to anyone that has sensitive skin and wears makeup on a daily basis.

I'm reviewing the Fragrance Free product as it was recommended by Dr. Baumann in her book, The Skin Type Solution. I have been using it for about a month twice a day in place of regular moisturizer and have found it to be better than any other moisturizer out there! I have super sensitive normal/dry skin and a lot of products like Cetaphil and Aveeno have irritated my skin and turned it red and pimply. Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum has helped smooth my skin tone out, reduce pimples and irritations, moisturize and reduce my pore size. It's a great primer for makeup and an excellent moisturizer for summer! I think that the product definitely works and is my new HG moisturizer. On the negative side, however, it doesn't contain any SPF, but it's great to wear at night only!!!! It's a Paula's Pick and recommended by a world-renown Dermatologist, I don't think you can go wrong here!

I've been through quite a bit of mascaras from Maybelline's signature pink bottle to MAC mascaras. I always found, however, that they all seemed to do one thing: they never did what they claimed. All other mascaras flaked off, smudged, clumped and the list goes on. Maybelline's Full N Soft mascara lives up to it's claims and more! I paid about $8 CAN and it was money well spent. The brush is medium sized and it tapers towards the end to make it easier to get the smaller lashes in the corners of your eyes. The product doesn't clump on the brush and always goes on smoothly. It doesn't make your eyelashes clump together like other mascaras, nor does it apply so much that you look like a showgirl. It never smudges, no matter how many times you gently rub your eyes; It will smudge if you're rubbing vigorously. It also doesn't flake off or run!! You can cry to your hearts content and it will stay in place! No mascara running down your face! Just make sure to wipe under your eyes after to make sure theres none there. It washes off with my cleanser and doesn't require me to rub my eyes. It's also great for contact lens wearers! This is the best mascara I have used and will continue buying it as long as Maybelline makes it!
