    CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

    CoverGirl Lashblast Volume Blasting Mascara

After being a die-hard L'Oreal Voluminous fan for years, I grew tired of reading all those positive things about CG Lash Blast. I just had to find out if all the hype is worth it. I've tried those crappy rubber or plastic lash applicators before and really just hated them. They always managed to clump my thin lashes together and give me a Tammy Fay Baker look. Even my 16 year old daughter is sold on this stuff, so I gave it a try. I think the thickness factor is similar in both the L'Oreal Voluminous and the Cover Girl Lash Blast. However, I think the CG seems to comb through a little better, so the lashes appear neater with the CG. I noticed the CG tends to flake after about 8 hours, which has never been a problem with my L'Oreal, so there was a strike against it. I'm still not completely sold on this stuff. I'm going to keep using it, to see if it dries up in the tube as fast as L'Oreal does, but since the price is pretty equivalent to the L'Oreal, I don't know if I'll repurchase.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish

This is odd for me, since I am not a fan of citrus scents. But something about this one really works with me. Satsuma has been described to me as a "light and zesty" (a friend) and "like a bowl of oranges" (family member). All I know is it wakes my dead butt up in the morning when I use it! Because I think the fragrance would probably not compliment any of my perfumes that I commonly use, I haven't bothered with the body lotion or body butter. I've tested them at The Body Shop, and found them as moisturizing as any other lotion or body butter I've used from The Body Shop. The shower gel and body polish I did purchase, and like I said; wakes me up! However, it left my skin a bit dry. I think I'd prefer these two for use in the summer for that reason. Would I repurchase? Probably if they are on sale. Because of the fact that I won't use the whole line, and will probably limit my use to warm months only, it's not worth the full price, IMO.

    M.A.C. Fluidline

    The best eyeliner out there!

I've tried every gel liner and nothing beats MAC. Applies like a dream, doesn't smudge or run, yet washes off great with regular facial cleanser. I use Blacktrack with my MAC 266 brush for application.

  • Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist

This is my holy grail of hair products. I used the original formula for years until the Deeeeep came out. If I don't use this at least twice a week, I can definitely tell. And the smell of all Aussie products is awesome! I always get compliments when I use any Aussie product, but most especially when I use the 3 minute miracle. For reference, my hair is medium density, fine texture, curly to the point of frizzy on the underlayers, wavy to strait on top, color processed.

    Almay Smart Shade Makeup

    Almay smart shade® makeup

Out of sheer laziness, I grabbed this foundation from my daughter's dresser this morning to put on instead of walking the flight of stairs to get my own. Yeah...lazy! My daughter uses the lightest shade of foundation, regardless of the brand, since she has a very pale complexion. I normally use at least one shade darker than her, but thanks to this incredibly long winter, I'm almost as pale as her! The shade I tried is Light. I was a little freaked out when I first squeezed it out of the tube; it was white with little blue particles in it! WHOA! but I rubbed it between my fingers and could see it starting to change color. After rubbing it on my face, I was surprised to see it basically sink into my skin with no noticable color difference. If my face wasn't having a "bad day" with quite a few red splotches, I think I would have been more impressed. The coverage is extremely sheer. If you don't have a lot of marks, scars, acne you are trying to hide, this would be great. But for my not-so-great complexion, it just doesn't offer enough coverage. The pros; *Ingredients include antioxidants like grapeseed, ginseng and gingko biloba. *SPF 15 *Great color blending technology *no streaking *doesn't feel cakey or sticky on my skin. The cons; *not great coverage The end result; I would buy if I had great skin! Since that's not the case, I'm glad I used my daughter's instead of buying and trying another great product that didn't work well for me.

I really loved the natural flush this gave me, but sadly it caused a lot of clogged pores in the area I used it. This happens to me with most cream products.
