I am going to write a review on three of the products I am using now so I will do each under separate cover. I will also review the Anew Genics Eye Cream. This Anew Genics line has been a really great new feature that Avon has introduced. I love this cream at night. It really is a great moisturizer and I can tell a difference in the hydration of my skin in the morning after I have worn it all night. It leaves just a really pleasant and not overly heavy feel to your skin. The smell is really nice as well. My skin looks more even and just overall brighter after using it. I had good results within a week. Another great thing about Avon is that they will frequently put their products "on sale" so even if one is fairly pricey if you wait a few weeks often they will have a special. They do this routinely so the products you want will always come up at a cheaper price at some point. One small downside is that the size of the jar is not terribly large so one can go through this product in about a month. Another good reason to catch the sale price so you can stock up. One thing to mention that may make some people a bit fearful is that you can feel this product as it is working. When I put it on my neck and decollete in particular I feel a mild tingle or burn. It is not unpleasant or uncomfortable and actually to me is a good think because I feel that the product is doing it's job. I have not had any kind of untoward reaction or redness and I feel that my skin can be kind of sensitive so I think it would probably be sale for all.

I just reviewed a primer by Sephora and I think I got this one at the same time. I got a little sample bag with my last order and there were several of these types of products included. This was not helpful. I did not find this product to decrease shine in the least. It even says you can apply it before and after makeup. No combination made it any better. I got several primers/deshine products and this was the worst of them all. I do not think the mist is effective so get the product to penetrate the skin. I even tried rubbing it in one time. That, too, did not make any difference in its effectiveness. I have used the Urban Decay eye primer in the past and did not find that effective, either. I have to say that I have not been super impressed with their products. They do not have nearly the efficacy of other brands with that same claim. Plus they are one of the more costly brands on the market. I think the mist delivery system is too ethereal and maybe evaporates before it can properly do it's described job. I noted that directly after application as well as once the makeup (I use a mineral powder preparation for my foundation) was applied did not make any noticeable difference in shine level. I know Urban Decay has a more lotion-type primer and perhaps this is better. But as I mentioned in the beginning of this review I did not find the eye primer effective at all. I am always on the lookout for good oil control products and I need to peruse the other product postings and reviews here. Good luck and happy hunting!

I just got this recently as one of my samples in a Sephora order. I have been pretty happy with all the products in the Sephora brand. This is one of the best primers I have ever used. It beats all the top brands as far as I am concerned and I am sure it is far more affordable. It goes on very smoothly and with no feeling of stickiness, residue or any other unsavory sensation. It completely disappears into your skin. It is a fabulous mattifier as well. It lasts the entire day and I do not feel the need to use blotting papers or powder to blot any extra oil. I have a real problem with the finding the right products for my skin that do not contribute to extra shine and I give this one an A plus. It only requires a small amount to cover your entire face. I applied it after my serum and moisturizer. I have tried it with different moisturizers to see if there was any change in quality of the staying power and it did not seem to matter. I also have skin that is quite sensitive and there have been a couple of product lines that did not set well with me and broke out my skin. This one is not one of those - I feel that my skin actually looks better during and after use. I have not actually applied this to my eyelids but perhaps it would stand in for another primer that is exclusively for eyes since that is my biggest problem area. Based on the ingredient list I think that would be more than acceptable. I also noted that my makeup (I use mineral powder) went on completely smoothly and did not streak or cake at all. Great product.

I have a real problem with my lids. They do not seem able to hold a shadow or liner with smearing it onto my brow whenever I blink my eyes. I have tried multiple products out there and this one falls in the middle of the pack. I do think that it provides some longevity to the liner staying in place. I find it comparable to the product by Too Faced. One thing I really do like about this product is that you can use the little pot to put the liquid in an mix with your loose liner. Then you can wash both the liner brush and the pot so you have endless opportunity to use different colors and also not contaminate either the pot that the liner is in or the brush. I have mentioned in a previous post that I work in healthcare and I can not tell you how many times I have come across gals who do not change out their eye makeup or do not wash brushes, etc. and then get an eye infection. Okay, enough harping on hygiene and back to the review ;) It is key (and will save you product as well) that you use the tiniest drop of the fluid to mix with your liner. Also key is to use the tiniest bit of liner. This stuff will last you forever which also makes it a good bargain. It should be pretty fluid so you get a good line. You can always add more of each but not take away so be sure to be very sparing in the amount of each you use initially. I do think they beat all the others in the packaging and use of product for those reasons alone. That makes it the number one for me.

I got this product not only for myself but for my teenage son. I have very little to say about it that is positive, unfortunately. I got the Deep Pore head for myself and I feel that it is inferior to even using a washcloth. I do not feel that the cleansing is adequate in the least. There are several similar products on the market and many are a tenth of the price or less. I also thought it was too difficult to change the heads. The little prongs are easy damaged as are the bristles. And the fact that it has to be changed as often as a toothbrush with heads costing $20 plus is a deterrent. One aspect of it that is nice is that it is quite small and portable. I also like that it has a charger and it not dependent on batteries. I have found that products that use a charger are more reliable than those which rely on batteries. For some reason a charger seems to give a product a longer lifespan. This is irrelevant of changing the batteries. Perhaps it has to do with some sort of corrosion or issue with the prongs inside the battery compartment. I also do not notice a bit of difference between the regular cleansing head and the deep pore head. They feel pretty similar and I do not see a difference in the cleansing aspect at all. On another positive note, the cleaning of the head itself is simple and they actually do not recommend doing it more than once a week. Working in healthcare I find this to be a little concerning, however. I feel that any tool that comes in contact with skin should be cleaned with each use. This radically cuts down on the opportunity for bacteria to breed on a wet product.

I do not see any benefit to this product and I have been using it for several weeks. It is a good moisturizer for night but I do not think that it has helped with improving my skin's tone at all. It is also quite expensive. I have a product from Avon that is a fraction of that cost that feels identical and is also supposed to provide firming. I would equate the two exactly. I have tried all 3 products from this new Philosophy line. I purchased them all at the same time and started them together. I do not see one bit of difference in my skin. The products as a whole from this company are quite pricey and I have yet to find one that delivers what it promises. I have used other products in their skin care line before and again, not impressed. The one thing that I would say that I have noticed is that my skin tone is maybe a bit more even. But I do not know if this is due to the product or if I am doing a better job at cleansing because I am also using a scrub most nights now as well. I do remember reading an article in the past that said you need to give a new product a chance for several weeks to really make a decision. I have done this now so I feel confident in making these statements. I also think it is probably to use the same line when trying a new product because many of the items are designed to work in conjunction with each other. Particularly if you are using a serum, lotion, etc. I know I am the first to review this product but I would be curious to see if any other people had a similar experience.

I love Burt's Bees products (especially their lip balms which I guess is what made them famous) but this product is probably the single worst shampoo I have ever used in my life. I have thick hair and it made my hair feel like straw - literally. It is supposed to be a moisturizing shampoo so I can only imagine what their other shampoos must feel like. I used the remainder on my dog - it was that bad. I did not even want to share it with my son. I used it only once and then I had to get ride of the rest and I used the entire rest of the bottle on my dog - plus another one. It did not lather and the residual feeling of my hair was just horrible. Thank goodness it did not seem to leave any lasting damage. I see now below this article that listed in the 8 worst drugstore shampoos a photo of it is there with a few others. I wish I had looked at that before I bought it! I would emphatically urge anyone considering this product to steer clear. Maybe if you have super fine hair it would give you some body? I do not know - I am trying to find some positive use for it. I will say that it did not (thankfully) have the same effect on my poor Dalmatian. She did not have a particularly stellar outcome, but at least her fur (which is far finer than my hair) seem about it's normal consistency. Maybe that would be a fabulous Christmas gift for a pet person! It would seem an indulgent way to take care of your furry companions. Sorry Burt's Bees - I love your company and I think most of your products are superb but this one has got to be a big nono.

This is a really good product. I do think it has actually made my lashes a bit longer and I have no even been using it for a month yet. It is very easy to apply and stays put fairly well. I find that it does smudge a bit but I tend to have oily lids. I really like the sparkle aspect. It is subtle but it looks very pretty. When I bought it I got it at one of the Bare Escentual outlet stores and they only had the cobalt color. It is a beautiful shade and I have very dark eyes so it is really complimentary. You only need a very small bit and it is applied right next to the last line. It makes your eyes look so much bigger and really stand out. I also wear glasses and need to have a product that helps bring my eyes forward. I work in a hospital Emergency Department and do not really feel that it is appropriate to wear a lot of makeup. I feel this is the only eye product I need - it makes that much of an improvement in my appearance. I was wearing subtle shadows before but now I do not feel that I need those anymore. The pot it comes in is quite small so it is very portable. I feel that this is going to last probably longer than would be prudent before replacing. Since it is not a hard liner I would imagine going with the 3-month timetable do switch it up is probably appropriate. Although I guess I could just clean off the top layer to provide a bit more aseptic type environment. I tend to wipe off the top with a clean tissue to expose the fresh product underneath. I have never had an eye infection and I take great caution.

This is a good product - it doesn't leave you feeling sticky and has a nice scent.

It does a good job of applying the powder. But it tends to lose it's structure when washed.
