This is the cream I mentioned in another review. It's unbelievable. When I heard from the salesman (in town from the headquarters in California for the launch at Sephora) that it was proven to be more effective than all other anti-aging products I was sure he was lying. But my results tell the story. My fine lines are far less visible than with any other product I've tried. After 2 weeks I saw results that have lasted ever since. I'm addicted. It's pricey but worth the investment. (Note to Total Beauty: If you search "algenist" nothing shows up from the products. Please fix this glitch! The line is too good to hide.)

I've never been satisfied with this product or any of the MAC Mineralize products with shimmer because of the way that it makes my pores more visible. Many other MAC products are great but this isn't one I prefer.

I picked up this curling iron after seeing it won the InStyle Best Beauty Buys this year (2011). The magazine wasn't lying. If you are careful enough not to burn yourself (I got 2 pretty bad burns the first time I used it--be careful!) then you'll find that it curls your hair quickly with curls that stay put for 2 days. I can easily curl all my hair in 10-12 minutes. I get compliments from friends and total strangers every time I use this product!

I wish that the full range of Algenist was here on Total Beauty to review. I have a lot of sun damage from living in California for most of my life. I used to swear by Dior products to make the fine lines around my eyes less noticeable but last year I was completely converted to the Algenist line. The micro-algae technology uses the water storing properties similar to lichen living on a hot desert rock in the baking sun to hold moisture next to your skin. After using the creams in this line for 2 weeks my skin looks remarkably smooth and young. It's literally like taking 5 years off your face. If you don't believe me, stop in to any Sephora and ask for a sample. You might be as surprised as I was!

If you're looking for a foundation with a light-to-medium coverage this is a good pick. I didn't want to like it (thinking just because it's Chanel doesn't mean it's going to be good) but it surprised me. The light-reflecting particles really do their job to make my skin look more luminous and evenly toned. I apply it with a brush and just one pump is enough for my face. Unexpectedly, the smell is one of the things I notice more and more each day. It's really pleasant!

I got tipped off about this product from a makeup artist friend of mine. Apply it with a stiff, narrow brush and finish it off with a bit of black eyeshadow (I use the black from the NARS Pandora duo) for a sealed, saturated line that should last all night.
