  • L'Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo
    10.0

L'Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo

One of the best drugstore shampoos ever, when paired with the conditiobner.

I have purchased this products several times, which is unusual for me because even if I like a product I tend to want to try other things just for the heck of it, but this shampoo and conditioner were awesome! It does an awesome job of moisturizing hair and make it feel super soft. A little goes a long way, and paired with the conditioner it is seriously great. The consistency is thick enough and creates plenty of lather so you know you're cleaning up well without drying out your hair. When I used it I had long, somewhat dry hair with breakage, and with this I could let it air dry and expect my waves to dry smoothly. I loved it. If I were to recommend any drugstore shampoo and conditioner, it would be this one.

  • Maybelline New York Dream Matte Mousse
    4.0

Maybelline New York Dream Matte Mousse

Good shades, full coverage--but broke me out.

EDITED: In my previous review I raved about this, mainly because the yellowish tones were perfect for my olive skin unlike most foundations. HOWEVER, I am sad to say I cannot repurchase this. I started using this about three months ago and I loved it, it gave good coverage and wasn't instantly oily. Sadly, I noticed my skin was breaking out like never before and refused to believe it was this foundation. About a week ago though, after trying many acne remedies, I finally stopped using this and started using Physician's Formula Mineral powder foundation--and bam, my skin immediately stopped breaking out, so this HAD to be the culprit. In short: Pros: Great coverage. Great for olive skin tones. Matte finish. Cons: Caused acne flare-ups like never before, rubbed off very easily, I will not be repurchasing. :(

  • Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil Deep Nourish
    10.0

Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil Deep Nourish

Light, wonderful oil that doesn't weigh hair down.

I LOVE this stuff. I have reviewed it everywhere because I'm honestly so in love with it. I have used several other oils in the past from high end to drugstore brands, and i think this is the best I have tried. First of all--it smells DELICIOUS. A light fresh scent that doesn't linger for too long. Secondly, this does not make my hair oily. My roots are oily but my ends are dry, and this gives me bounce, shine and smoothness without making my hair look oily, even if I accidentally use too much. I got a sample and ended up loving it and buying the full size immediately. I use it on my damp or dry hair after I shower and it has become my favorite leave-in treatment.

  • Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy Damage & Color Repair Nourishing Shampoo

My mother was actually the one who bought this shampoo when it first came out, and continues to buy it. However, although I was excited to try it, this shampoo made my hair extremely dry, and my sister agrees. I love the smell, it smells almost exactly like the color care shampoo from herbal essences (the pink/magenta bottle), but even though I tried only to use it on my roots, it still managed to make my hair feel really dry, even when paired with a conditioner. I wouldn't say this does anything to protect color or moisturize, but if you don't have dry hair, it might do something.

  • Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer with SPF 15

I have been using this for a while and am only waiting until I finally run out. It's not very moisturizing at all, yet about an hour later it makes your face look extremely oily. And the "glow" is simply just little sparkles in it that don't really do much of anything. I have acne-prone skin and it didn't break me out at all, but it didn't do anything great or amazing either, just "meh". I won't be repurchasing, but it wasn't just plain bad either.

  • Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication

I have been using this for a LONG time, and it is my staple and is the primary thing that keeps my acne at bay! However, if you have sensitive skin, DO NOT USE IT. And if you do, ONLY use it on your acne prone areas or as a spot treatment at night. The only bad reviews I see are from people who know they have sensitive skin, I mean, it's 10%, THAT IS STRONG, so I don't know what they were expecting! Anyway, I apply a thin layer after washing my face every morning and then follow up with a moisturizer. I lost the only tube I had about two weeks ago at a terrible time, because my period was coming and I was also under some serious stress, so with the combination of everything, my skin broke out horribly. Finally a week ago I was able to pick this back up and BAM, within a few days my skin was almost back to normal, I couldn't be more thankful. Benzoyl peroxide is able to penetrate deeply unlike salicylic acid, and also unlike salicylic acid it's anti-bacterial, and dramatically reduces the amount of acne causing bacteria on your face, so it's much more powerful and if you only have light mild acne, not a good idea to use. Anyway, I simply adore this product and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have really sensitive skin and is tired of trying so many things. :)

  • Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit

I have used several of the products in the past and switched simply because I wanted to try out other things, but a week ago I picked this 2-in-1 advantage kit which is the same as this, except it also includes a night spot corrector, and the whole 4 piece kit was on sale for *drumroll* FIVE DOLLARS. I was looking for something because two weeks ago I had a serious break out due to serious stress and an oncoming period. I haven't gotten one in a long time, but it broke out my cheeks, forehead, nose, sides of my mouth---just awful. I didn't feel to great, and I hardly had any real acne medication at home because the week prior to the break out I lost my wonderful clean & clear persa-gel 10 (which I ADORE), so I was so excited to see I could get so much for only 5 bucks. The cleanser I had used since I was like.. 12. It's very strong, you can smell it and it tingles when you use it (but if you have sensitive skin, it WILL dry it our and sting), but for my newly zit-full face, it felt like some serious work was being done. Also, I use make up, so prior to this I used a gentle cleanser to be sure everything would come off. After the cleanser I use my wonderful Clean & Clear Persa-gel 10% benzoyl peroxide which comes in a little white tube and I apply a thin layer all over my face and especially around my acne-prone areas. By the time it dries my face does in fact feel a little dry, but the moisturizer that comes with it helps out with that! It's very light and it does a good job of hydrating my face. I used the spot treatment at night, and it stings a little when you put it on, but unless they are blackheads, it won't do much to reduce the size or make anything disappear, honestly. It's only salicylic acid so for closed pimples it doesn't help, but benzoyl peroxide will seriously kill them off, because it's able to penetrate deeply unlike salicylic acid and it's anti-bacterial. Anyway, this is almost week two, and my face is almost entirely clear! Once again, I added on the use of the CLEAN AND CLEAR PERSA-GEL 10, and I think that's a big contributing factor which will help A LOT if you apply mainly on your problem areas and don't have extremely sensitive skin. I will keep using this, and if it's still on sale I'm going to grab it again and stock up :)

  • Garnier Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam

I've been using this product for about a month and a half, and I have acne prone skin, but my skin is still able to tolerate moisturizing cleansers since it is also flaky. The "foam" on the product is more creamy than anything, and just like a cream cleanser it doesn't lather at all. However, it does in fact feel very gentle and the smell is very light so it shouldn't be bothersome. When you rinse it off however, it almost feels like your skin has some kind of filmy layer over it.. and you don't stop feeling it until your skin is completely dry. This bothers me a little because it makes it feel like I didn't clean my face, almost like having foundation over it. I can say it did help my dry flakes calm a little in comparison to other harsher cleansers, but now if I ever use it I only use it as a beginning wash and then use something after it to get rid of the filmy feeling. I suppose maybe I should stick to other products that aren't "as moisturizing", so I won't be repurchasing. I hate to waste a product so I will finish it up, but if you have oily acne-prone skin, don't expect this to be one of those products that'll moisturize it enough so that your skin doesn't produce excess sebum.

  • Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial

Smells great, very concentrated, gives a fresh after feeling, and makes skin feel soft and smooth. It removes all of the dirt, (I can tell by my toner), and it doesn't dry out skin, instead, it moisturizes while cleansing. Amazing.

  • Herbal Essences Hydralicious Self Targeting Shampoo

This is one of the products that's stacked away in my cabinets with the majority still in the bottle. It is HORRIBLE. It never balanced out my hair, instead, it made my hair dry and poofy at the ends, and flat at the top. When applied it immediately made my hair feel tangly and brittle. The conditioner doesn't even fix it. It gives a waxy feeling. I would never purchase this again. The main ingredients: sodium lauryl sulfate, and ammonium laureth sulfate. Now, all sulfates are bad for hair, but THESE two, are one of those most harsh, drying of all. I would NOT recommend this to anyone, no matter what your hair type is. Great smell, great packaging, cheap, crappy product.
