My mother just recently purchased an Instyler for me to see if it would work on my natural kinky hair. I don't apply heat to my hair often and I found that when I did, my hair would 'revert' right afterwards. After the first use, my hair was fairly straight (not completely) and it stayed that way for about 3 days until it physically got wet (not with humidity but with actual rain. lol). At that point, I wasn't really interested in it. It gave, to me, results not up to par with flat ironing with a longer shelf life. I decided to try it out again today after washing my hair and actually took my time. My hair was crazy straight with shine, body, and bounce! Even while I was working out and when I took a shower the straightness and sheen held up! Much more than I can say for my old flat iron. The difference between the first and second time was: I was patient and went slower with smaller sections. For my hair this wasn't a quick job. To get the results I wanted I had to slow down and section off my hair and even then it took a little less than flat ironing. Overall, at the moment, i'm pretty happy with it. If it changes, I will let you guys know.

I have a coarse kinky hair and had purchased this product as a way to contain some of the frizz and add shine to my hair. After the first use, I learned that it made my hair look TOO oily and the oil residue left on my hands was ridiculous! Since I spent money on this product, I decided to try it in conjunction with another product, use much much less (between the size of a penny and a nickel), and to use it when flat ironing my hair. This worked a lot better for me. My hair was much smoother once flat ironed and had a bounce and shine that I was IN LOVE with! The application was still messy and left my hands in an oily mess and I only use it every once in awhile but it's good enough for the few straight days my hair gets.

While cleaning out a basket in my mother's closet I came across a FULL 12oz container of Albolene. It said on the container that it was for make-up removal. I always have THE HARDEST time getting my eyeliner and mascara off. I tried it today for the first time on my eyes and it was AMAZING! I have combination skin so I thought i'd see how it worked as a facial cleanser...It was too moisturizing for my normal - oily parts but just right for my dry spots. My skin is super smooth but I don't like my skin to be so...dewy looking and feeling. I haven't made up my mind if I will use it in conjunction with my previous cleansing regimen in certain spots or if I'm going to only use it for removing eye make-up. Only time will tell, but it's definitely amazing for make-up removal purposes!
