    Anastasia Brow Gel

Gel feeling on brows - yuck!

I guess I don't see what the hype is about - the product does seem to hold brows in place pretty well, but it left mine feeling like they were covered in... well, hair gel. Almost like they aren't totally dry, either. And while I know this is a gel product, I was hoping it wouldn't feel like it. I'm glad I received a sample of this to use instead of purchasing it for $20 - I honestly don't think it's worth it. There are cheaper alternatives, as others have noted.

    Almay Ideal Lip Gloss

    Nice colors, hate the smell

I might have an older formulation of this gloss, apparently, because mine has a strange, almost sickening minty smell to it that I really can't stand. The color payoff is ok, not great; the blackberry shade I got looked like it would be much darker than it was. It did look quite natural on the lips, though, and had just a hint of shimmer to it - very subtle and flattering. I just hope they've gotten rid of the mint smell. Ew!

  • Revlon Midnight Swirl Lip Lustre

I found these for dirt cheap at the store, since they're discontinued, and wanted to try them - they looked very opaque and sultry. These glosses are a swirl of two colors, which look very dark and shimmery in the tube. I thought they'd be perfect for a dramatic night look. Unfortunately, the gloss actually comes out much more sheer than I thought, and not very bold or dark - a disappointment. It did have some nice shimmer, but not enough to create a real "wow" factor. I did like the color I bought, Reddish Fetish, but just wished there was more to it!

  • Olay Regenerist Regenerating Lotion with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15

The SPF on this isn't as high as I usually prefer (30 ), but it's a great start. This is the most lightweight moisturizer I have ever encountered - it goes on silky and absorbs so quickly. It does have a light fragrance, but nothing unpleasant. I don't recommend this for people with either very oily or very dry skin, because there is no oil control and it's likely too light to hydrate extra-dry skin; but other than that, it's great. Also try the version with the sunless tanner for summer!

    Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream

    Beautiful skin - overnight!

I've only been using this night cream for about a week, but love it already. It's luxuriously silky and moisturizing, and has an amazing fragrance that helps me relax before sleeping. It's a fairly dense cream, but once it absorbs into your skin, feels light. When I wake up in the morning, mine feels hydrated, smooth and soft. I don't know about anti-aging effects, but I'm sold anyway! It's a little pricey for my tastes, but if it really is one of the best creams out there, then it's very affordable compared to most others.

    M.A.C. Lipglass

    Gorgeous, but short-lived

I really adore the great selection of beautiful shades, colors and finishes for lipglass. However, as many have mentioned, it isn't exactly the longest-wearing and can be stickier than some will like. It doesn't bother me, though. They add tons of shine to lips, and some have a great, glam shimmer as well. Limited edition lipglasses catch my eyes the most, such as the ones from the Fafi collection. The price is a little high for my liking, but if you're looking for something similar for a bit less, check out the L'Oreal HIP liquid lipcolors - small color selection, but more product and the same great intensity and vanilla scent. Yum. Overall, these are lovely, but the formula could stand for improvement.

  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

I love these hand soaps and have been using them for years now! The selection of delicious, fragrant scents is unbeatable, and the soaps are more rich and effective than anything else I've tried. The cleansing beads are great, providing some mild exfoliation as well. My hands never feel overly dry or stripped of moisture after using them (they've really improved the formula) - in fact, when my hands are dry after a shower, I'll wash them with one of these and they'll instantly feel soothed and moisturized. Love them! Look for great sales for them, too.

Bonne Bell Eye Style Shadow Box

    Decent for the price

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried one of these shadow boxes - for the price, I didn't expect anything. But all four colors had a nice, subtle shimmer, and the shadows were very soft and blendable. That being said, without a primer, they won't stay on too long. There was also quite a bit of fallout no matter how I applied, so be careful. My favorite box is the one with the shimmery black, light blue, beige and white - some very nice combinations here. Just don't expect high quality.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-In Serum

    Messy, bad packaging, and oily

I've tried using this product for quite a while, and while it adds "shine," it just never seems to do much good for my hair. It's a LOT more oily than other shine serums I've tried, leaving a nasty mess on your hands. The smell is quite strong, but I wouldn't advise using more than a small pump anyway - too much, and your hair will look so greasy. I try not to use it anywhere near my roots. A few weeks after purchasing, the pump top broke for no apparent reason, and it took me forever to get it working again - obviously some cheap packaging. Save your money.

    Chapstick Classics

    Never cared for it

Simply put, it's waxy and overly simple - it does nothing but coat the lips. I agree that there is much better out there, so I'm not sure why anyone would want to continue using this. Plus it has so much petroleum - ew. There's no proof this stuff is even GOOD for your lips, if it does anything at all.
