After spending far too much time messing around with drugstore cosmetics, I decided to return to the Clinique line. I'd actually gone to the counter to purchase foundation and powder, but it was gift time at Macy's, and I received Raspberry Glace in a trial size. First, I should say I'm a bit of a longwear lipstick junkie, so it'd been awhile since I'd bought regular lipstick. However, I applied this hours ago and it's stayed true! It's also made my lips feel very soft and the color is fantastic - not too garish, but it definitely has a presence. There's a very real possibility that when the trial runs out, I'll buy another tube. In general, Clinique products are always worth the extra cost because they are very reliable, high quality, and the company doesn't test on animals.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Cream Wash
Fairly lackluster (and leaves skin feeling not so clean)
I am a 28 year old of Asian descent and have adult onset acne and fairly sensitive skin (benzoyl peroxide does me). Having read recently that salicylic acid is better for adult skin (and is much gentler), I decided to seek out as many salicylic based products as I could. I've used Neutrogena in the past and was fairly pleased with it, so I assumed I couldn't really go wrong with this. I should say I don't hate this face wash - I haven't had a really awful breakout recently (although I don't know that it's necessarily preventing breakouts), so that's obviously a good sign. However, my skin never feels very clean afterward - it's supposedly rehydrating my skin with much needed moisture, but it feels more like I didn't rinse well enough. I also recently discovered that Neutrogena tests on animals, so that's a definite downside to the entire line, but if you visit the PETA website, you'll find basically everyone tests on animals, so it's nearly unavoidable these days. In short, this face wash does what it should, I suppose, but it's really, really average.

I'm not sure why I decided to purchase Maybelline Fit Me! blush, but I really regret it. I am fairly light-skinned and generally only use a very small amount of blush, but I had to pile on layer after layer and even then it was just barely visible (I purchased Medium Mauve). Because of this, I went through it extremely fast and then, after perhaps a few weeks to a month, it crumbled into a ton of tiny bits and is completely unusable. Avoid this blush! It's an extreme waste of time and money!
