Gillette's multi-bladed wonders have spawned many a parody, but it's not without reason. The second iteration of Gillette's Venus Embrace has upped the ante to help you achieve the closest shave possible whilst minimizing the probability of nicks and cuts with the help of the product's moisture ribbons on the razor cartridge. Since I starting shaving at age 12 (I think), I'd say I cut myself about 70% of the time. Not anymore, thanks to the Venus Embrace's soft grip handle for serious control. As I've said before, the Venus Embrace "corners like it's on rails," in the words of Pretty Woman's Vivienne Ward. Ladies, I spent years shaving with a men's razor and only recently begun to realize how much EASIER it is to use a razor designed for LEGS as opposed to FACES. File that under "totally obvious, but took years to learn." The set comes with a shower pod that houses the razor and two refillable cartridges. Somehow it won't stick for long on my marble shower wall, but since that's my only beef with it, I think we're doing pretty well. I'm looking forward to using mine on a more regular basis come spring. Spring, did you hear that? I promise to shave more if you EVER arrive.

L'Oreal Skin Genesis Daily Moisturizer Oil-Free Lotion ($26) is THE best drugstore moisturizer I've tried to-date. It's mildly luminescent for skin-brightening and is absorbed instantly. It's formulated with patented Pro-Xylane, an exclusive L'Oréal molecule seven years in the making that strengthens skin and reignites cell activity layers. Somehow, it manages to walk that fine line between keeping my skin shine-free, yet moisturized with subtle shimmer. I typically have a promiscuous lack of brand loyalty especially in the moisturizer department... but I've been rocking L'Oreal Skin Genesis consistently since I busted it out a couple of months ago. The best part is its Space Odyssey 2001-style monolith pump-top packaging. It appeals to my sci-fi side and to my germaphobe side. Genius.

Here's what I like about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self-Tanning Mist in Medium: 1)The price: $10 2)Its lack of DHA odor 3)The airbrushed non-wet mist that doesn't feel gross when you apply it 4)The color the Medium one produces is perfect for WINTER 5)It's very user-friendly - it yields no streaks I don't love that (see number 4, above) the color isn't very appropriate for summer. In the summer, I like to be tan. Not a real, fried-myself-at-the-NJ-shore, going-to-look-45-by-the-time-I'm-30-tan - but I like to FAUX tan myself to a deep caramel. This one was a bit too subtle for summer for me. I'm going to stick with Lancome Flash Bronzer for now.

Skyn Iceland Cloud Cream delivers: after this wretched snowy week, I've been using the divinely-scented cream to calm my red, raw, flu-ravaged nose. Is that gross? Well, it's grosser to stand idly by doing nothing, friends. My nose is on its way to recovery, thanks to Skyn Iceland! Here's the part that's more of a nightmare than a dream: Pure Cloud Cream costs $75 for the 1.7 oz. jar. I find it difficult to throw down so much moolah for a tiny little jar. That said, its blend of aloe, oat extracts and peptides brightened my skin tone AND didn't react negatively with my iffy combo skin.
