After fiercely storming through Nars, Chanel, Lancome, Clinique, Laura Mercier, and drugstore brands like L'Oreal, Neutrogena, and Almay... I found the ultimate lipstick to be found in Vincent Longo's Velvet Riche. I am a fan of nudes, and was sold immediately on their shade Pure Demure. The lipstick stayed put, didn't smear, didn't cake or go dry. It was highly hydrating, but didn't spread outside of my lips and cause blemishes like other hydrating formulas have done. The shade complimented my skin tone and the lipstick is concentrated - the tube has lasted when used with a lip brush - and thus takes down any fear of spending a lot on makeup. As a poor college student, I can't afford to do that. But I live by this - as it does double duty as both color and balm - and adding a little Nars Striptease gloss on top made the nude look, well... more of a tease.

As described of the Mixed Greens Shampoo, this is the conditioner that seals the deal. Alongside its explosive partner in packing somehow every vegetable and fruit possible into an organic product, it kept my hair lustrous, healthy, thick, and severed the tendency to split ends and breakage during combing or styling. This can be used every day and in combination with the Mixed Greens Shampoo. I also rotated in the Extreme Protein Treatment by MOP to add a little extra meat.

A shampoo junkie, I have never repeated a purchase in my 24 year life span. Every bottle went out, a new one came in. This shampoo is the first to remain a staple for my hair. Perhaps it's the telling ingredients of yucca, sweet potato, artichoke, etc. that does it. The idea of literally soaking my hair in rich, nutritious food might psychologically enhance the effects. However, I still found that with repeated use, this shampoo did not lose its thunder. My hair is thick and coarse, tending to have oily scalp and brittle ends from coloring and chemical treatments. Day after day, this shampoo created a rich, thick, glossy essence to my hair that simply appeared that my once anorexic strands were finally being fed.

Patricia Wexler M.D. Acnescription Overnight Acne Repair Lotion with Acnostat
The IT Product for Oily Mishaps
Through ancient crusted tubes of Clearisil and attempts at toothpaste globs, nothing has seemed to provide an overall acne treatment better than this Repair Lotion. I've tried ProActiv, Accutane, every dermatological and over-the-counter product. Either the benzoyl content was so concentrated it robbed my skin of oils, eventually causing it to make up for it, usually on a first date - or the salycilic acid was too weak to provide a comprehensive care for my acne-prone skin. This treatment lotion did not over-dry, did not over-moisturize, and provided a clear facial palette in the morning with which to apply makeup and even dare to know, with confidence, I would not be waking up with a montage of blackheads or painful zits coming-of-age.
