Yes it does create a tube around your eyelash. I do not use makeup remover, only warm water and a washcloth so many mornings I awoke to have what looked like lashes on my face. It was the tubes. All this mascara did was darken my eyelashes so unless you have very thick or very long eyelashes, this mascara is a bust.

Befine night cream

I got a .5 fluid ounce sample with Birchbox in August and after using it every night since then I finally finished it last night. Couldn't believe it lasted so long so I guess a little goes a long way. It was absorbed easily and quickly and left my face soft until I washed it in the morning. I really didn't noticed any scent so that wasn't a factor.
