    Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Stain

    Glossy/balmy type lipstain

I own this product in 3 shades, the red shade (which the posting regulations won't allow me to name-silly) (my favorite). Amused, which is a fuchsia pink shade (I haven't worn it much.) I recently purchased Joy, which I haven't decided about. I apply it when I'm hoping for a nude-peachy look, but I keep end up wiping it off and applying a nude gloss instead. For a stain, these are very moisturizing. The downside to this (and most of my favorite lipstains), is that they are a bit messy to apply (the crayon/pencil application is a bit deceiving) and keep in place. I almost prefer a stain that dries quickly (1-5 minutes) that you can apply a good lip balm or gloss over. But the colors in this collection are so pretty, I can't help myself. I adore the red shade when I want that red hint, without committing to a full-on red lip. I don't really like using a lip pencil with lipstains, because I think that's kind of defeating the purpose of a true lipstain, but I probably need to experiment with that, since these are so slick and sloppy. Still, over all I like them a lot.

Disappointing after the shampoo and conditioner

Basically, the jury is still out. First, I have fine-textured, but rather voluminous, medium-long length, (mostly straight with a slight bit of wave) color treated hair. I received a single-use sample of the shampoo, conditioner, and mask to try: I decided to try the shampoo and conditioner during one "shampoo", and the mask after using a simple "clarifiy-ing" shampoo at another time, so that I could better evaluate the products. I figured I would most likely use the shampoo and conditioner at the same time and could better evaluate how they worked together, how any scent/fragrance worked together etc. Incidentally, I loved the shampoo and conditioner. I waited a few days after trying the shampoo/conditioner, before trying the mask, and I used it after a basic clarify-ing shampoo. I focused the product on the ends and worked it up toward the scalp (on damp hair as directed) and left it on for about 15 minutes (directions say 5-10 minutes. It left my hair soft and manageable, without being heavy. The fragrance is much lighter than it's shampoo/conditioner counterparts. However, I don't think it performed any better than when I used the shampoo and conditioner. And at that price tag, I can't see myself making this purchase. I would definitely want to sample this 1-2 more times before making the $50 commitment, and even then I'm not sure I would, because I use another product that works just as well, if not better, for 1/5th the price. That's the reason I knocked off 4 stars--It's an OK product at a ridiculous price.

    Sampled, but led to purchase

First, I have fine textured, but rather voluminous, medium-long length, (mostly straight with a slight bit of wave) color treated hair. So here's what happened. The first thing that hit me was the fragrance. I'm not used to much fragrance/scent in my shampoo or conditioner, so it at first seemed heavy to me, but I actually liked its musky, almost men’s fragranced tones. The shampoo and conditioner fragrance complimented each other. I applied the conditioner to the ends and then worked it up easily toward the roots. It rinsed cleanly. I felt it left my highly processed (high-lift, lightened blonde, regularly heat-styled- blow dry/curler/flatiron) hair super soft, smooth, and shiny, with plenty of volume and "bounce". I really was pleasantly surprised and loved the results, and I really loved the fragrance even though I usually prefer either soft, sweet fragrances. And actually I usually prefer my shampoo and conditioner are un-fragranced, so they don’t compete with my perfume/body fragrances. Funny story regarding the fragrance: A few hours later, my husband and I were at a drama rehearsal at church, and the blocking called for me to get close enough to another man to touch his forehead and ask, "Are you sick?" Instead of his line ("No, I'm fine."), he said, "Wow, you smell really good!" It was pretty funny, because my husband, who was playing the guys brother was sitting at the table right next him, protested loudly, "Dude! I'm RIGHT HERE!---Stop flirting with my wife!---I mean "Ida"! (my character's name)". We were all laughing. I wasn't wearing any perfume, so it had to be the shampoo/conditioner. If you don't like strong fragrance in your hair products, this might not be for you, and you might want to check the fragrance in the store before you purchase it, and I certainly don't plan to layer on my perfume or fragranced lotions when I use it. It's kind of a "body fragrance" in itself. Big problem (for me anyway): The price. Wow, $30 for six and a half ounces! That's the only reason I knocked off a star, but I have to say, it performed really well, and in the end, I made the full-size purchase. I guess that's what a little un-solicited flirting from another man, in the presence of your husband, will do ;) I'm looking at the purchase as a high-end conditioner AND a fragrance-in-one,---to help me feel better about the price-tag. If after using a full-size bottle, I change my mind, or even decide to repeat the purchase, I will update my review! :)

It lathered up nicely, but not too much, and worked very easily through my hair. There was not enough product in the sample to do any "rinse and repeat", but it wasn't necessary. I didn't have a lot of styling product built up in my hair at the time, so I can't really attest to that. I felt it left my highly processed (high-lift, lightened blonde, regularly heat-styled- blow dry/curler/flatiron) hair soft, smooth, and shiny, with plenty of volume and "bounce". Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On

    Decent product and price

Sampled product. This product feels very refreshing and soothing, especially right out of the refrigerator as suggested. I use this in the morning when I first wake up. It has a very slight burning/tingling sensation when first applied until it dries. If you have very sensitive skin, just beware. I have somewhat sensitive skin, but did not have any problem with it. I have not had the nerve to apply it before my makeup as directed, so I can't comment on how it does under makeup. I've always used this type of product while I'm waking up, but before I start my morning routine. If I didn't have a product/routine that I already love, I would definitely purchase this product. Especially if it works well under makeup, which like I said, I have not yet tested. (I actually use hemorrhoid cooling gel as a morning "eye mask" when my eyes are puffy. I apply it, allow it to dry, then "re-activate" it by wetting it down with cool water, and let it dry 1-2 more times. This routine de-puffs my eyes like a charm, even at their worst, and my eyes can be practically swollen shut some mornings when my allergies are bad. Nothing works as well for me, HOWEVER, I have not yet had a chance to test this product when my eyes are that severely swollen. Just haven't had that much swelling in my eyes. Thank God). I will probably try to use this in addition to my usual routine, underneath my makeup. If/when I try this, if it works I will update my review. And if it works well under makeup, I would change my 9 stars to 10.

  • Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

This is a review of the sampled product. I was very disappointed in this product. It was not what I expected at all. It seemed to be nothing more than expensive primer, with no lasting benefit once it's washed off. The ingredients almost seemed to have separated in the tube. The product did go on smoothly, but I found it drying. Perhaps that is what it is supposed to do, like as a matti-fying product. I didn't care for it's performance alone or layered underneath my bb cream. It is very expensive and I will not be purchasing the full size.

    Proactiv Refining Mask

    Good sulfer-based product

Works well as an all over facial mask, or an overnight spot treatment. It's the best "emergency" blemish treatment I've found. As soon as I get a pimple, that night (or even better, before the pimple starts to surface), I cover it with the mask let it dry and leave it on overnight. The following day the blemish is greatly reduced.

    Metal Lash definer

I bought this years ago, after getting sick of my standard 1/2 brow brush 1/2 lash comb breaking. The teeth on the comb would break, or the entire handle break off. This product separates the lashes and clears away mascara clumps perfectly. Mine lasted years before it finally broke from daily use. I still need and plan to replace it.

  • Novalash Japonesque Heated Eyelash Curler

I am a major Japoneque fan, and I had high hopes for this product, but I was never able to get it to work nearly as well or as easily as heating my standard eyelash curler with my blow dryer (test it on the inside of your arm before putting it near your eye. I think this is the only Japonesque product I've disliked.

  • Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask

I somehow "inherited" a jar of this product after my mom passed away 2 1/2 years ago (my family doesn't like to waste anything), and it sat on the edge of my bathtub. I kept meaning to try it... I finally stumbled on the reviews for this product, and they were pretty good, so I finally tried it: Especially for the price, I think this is a really good product. I don't consider it a hair mask so much as a good deep conditioner for extra, dry, and color treated hair. It leaves my hair soft and manageable without weighing it down, whether I use it on the ends or roots. BTW, I have rather voluminous but fine textured hair. I am big on alternating hair products, but I have been using this 4-5 x/week without any noticeable build-up. I used up my mom's old product, and made a second purchase.
