    Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer

    Perfect Sun-Kissed Look

When i loook a little pale, a quick swipe of Hoola always makes me look better. Since I'm naturally a little pink in the cheeks, I like that this warms up my face without making me too orange or red. It helps to use a big brush, otherwise you can get a stripe of color, but the overall glow is great. It also is good on other parts of the body - the upper chest/decollatage for example. It's not cheap, but lasts a long time, since you don't need a lot at a time.

  • Maybelline New York Define-a-Lash Lengthening Washable Mascara

I'd heard about the virtues of this mascara from a trusted beauty site so i figured I'd give it a whirl. I got it at Rite-Aid when they were having a buy 1 get 1 free deal, The eyeshadow i got is much more usable. But I digress. The mascara wand is flimsy and flexible which allows me to "define" each lash. If you have have naturally thick lashes and want just an everyday mascara, go for it.That's really the only benefit of the mascara - one coat doesn't add any volume, thickness, or length to my lashes. A second coat however tends to clump and give me the dreaded spider eyelash look. Overall, i think there are better mascaras out there at similar price points.

  • Nars Blush
    9.0

    Nars Blush

    Long lasting, good color

I have two Nars blushes - the ubiquitous Orga*m and Sin. For my skintone, Sin works a lot better. I'm Asian with medium skin, but with slightly rosy cheeks. Orga*m is a little too pale and too pink for my skin, but when I mix it with the Laguna Bronzer, it works well. The blush does last a long time, is pretty easy to apply with a blush brush and definitely lasts a long time. I've had Sin for a couple years and haven't used it a lot...of course, i have a lot of other blushes too, so i try to use all of them...that's another story. Quick recap - the formula's good, color's good so long as you pick the right shade for your complexion. (total beauty won't let me type the whole name of that blush....interesting)

  • Lancome Flash Bronzer Glow 'N Wear
    7.0

Lancome Flash Bronzer Glow 'N Wear

    Good, buildable color

I bought this with the shimmer and it worked quite well. I've had a lot of problem with uneven color in the past with other bronzers, but this gave me a nice golden tan. I'm asian with a medium skin tone and the flash bronzer made me nice and tan without looking orange. I used it on my upper chest, arms, and legs, and it was easy to blend. The color washed off my hands easily, although i always had to be careful to not get the water too high up my wrists, otherwise you'll end up with the telltale tan line. Despite its ease of application, i noticed after a few days that my inner elbows were drastically lighter - the friction of constantly rubbing against each other was causing the color to come up. If i scrubbed any area just a little, it also seemed to come off. If you apply every couple days, it shouldn't be a problem, but at nearly $30 a bottle, it's not cheap enough to buy a lot of. Also, the shimmer is pretty strong, so I might try the non-shimmer formula next time.

  • Lancome Color Fever Lipstick

    Lancome Color Fever Lipstick

PS KIss - a great red

I bought Peter Som's PS Kiss and I love it. The color is a deep red that lasts me a long time. I often have problems with lipstick fading after a while, but I wore this to a dinner/dance and even after eating, the lipstick was still visible. It needed a touch up, but you could definitely see its redness. You do have to use a light hand though, because if you swipe it on like most lipsticks, the color can be pretty intense and dark. It may work for those with darker skin tones, but was a little too dark for me. I just pat it on my lips to build up the color to get the classic red that evokes old Hollywood glamour.

  • China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners

China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners

    Great colors, Long wear

I love nail polish and now I love China Glaze. I'm glad I found China Glaze's polishes - they are free of the big 3 and don't have a terribly "nail polishey" smell. The formulas seem to be a good consistency - maybe a little thicker than some of the cheaper brands, so you can generally get the color in the bottle with 2 coats. The brushes apply the polish smoothly without streaking; the polish dries at a reasonable rate. The colors pretty, unique, and at less than $4 a bottle, a good value.

  • Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer

I wanted to like this product. I use Jergens regular lotion and I love it. This "natural glow" lotion though, didn't do it for me. Idon't know if i chose the wrong shade (I picked medium), but it didn't do anything for me after a week. It wasn't even that moisturizing and the smell was a little off putting. Worst of all, my skin broke out in something - my skin became a little bumpy and uneven. I normally don't have sensitive skin, so i'm not sure what's in this. I discontinued use and my skin returned to normal after a couple days. Maybe I'm one of the few that broke out, but I won't be purchasing it again

  • CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara
    9.0

    CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

    For Thick and Full Lahses

First off, a little bit about my lashes. I have stick straight lashes that point downward. I have a typical asian shaped eye with no crease. I'd say my lashes are fairly long, but they're kind of thin and the lack of curl makes them pretty unremarkable. The worst part of it is - they don't hold curl for longer than 10 minutes. I can spend 20 -30 minutes with a eyelash curler and mascara and think i've got a good look going, only to see them deflated by the time i'm out the door. So what mascara works? Lash blast does! After I've curled my lashes, the mascara definitely adds a lot of thickness and fullness to my lashes. I've tried a lot of mascara and they don't match the rich color that Lashblast gives me. It's a little tricky to use the big brush -you need to spend a few minutes making sure it doesn't clump, but it's well worth it! The brush is unique, holds a lot of product and coats my lashes well. At its price, it's well wroth it, but i can't give it a 10 since it's a bit tricky to use and it isn't a mascara that keeps my lashes curled.
