    DDF Protect and Correct

    A Nice Double Duty Product

DDF always tends toward impressive products. I particularly love their new Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer aimed at treating and preventing hyperpigmentation and melasma. I have always been a fan of double duty products, so this one goes high on my recommended item list. DDF’s Protect and Correct is a light moisturizer with four chemical sunscreens for SPF 15 coverage. It also contains various extracts, including licorice root extract, to help treat pigmentation. So, the sunscreen prevents discoloration, while the extracts treat it. The lotion has a decent feel to it, absorbs fairly quickly, and I had no issues with acne with it. I do wish it had a higher SPF though. I really prefer to use SPF 30 and above. A physical blocker in it instead of all chemical ones would be nice too. Regardless, it still is a quality product. DF Protect and Correct retails at around $58 and can be found at various online sources.

  • L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Color Vive Conditioner for Color Treated Hair

L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Color Vive Conditioner for Color Treated Hair

Good Value Conditioner for Color Treated Hair

Total Beauty sent me a set of L’Oreal Vive Pro Color Care Shampoo and Color Care Conditioner to try. Retailing at under $5 each, these are good value products for anyone with color treated hair. The shampoo feels moisturizing and is high on lather, so not much is needed. The conditioner pairs well with the shampoo by adding additional moisture and providing good detangling. My hair was left soft and smooth, and I saw no stripping of my color when I tested it. Considering its realatively low cost, I give it a big thumbs up! L”Oreal products can be found at most drug and grocery stores, and big box retailers.

  • L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self-Tanning Mist

Last year, I wrote about how impressed I was with L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Spray. Now L'Oreal has updated the product with ProPefect Sublime Bronze. I gave it a try and interestingly, I liked the old version better. This one came out more orange on me than the one I tried last year. With that said, I got perfectly acceptable results and I will happily use up the can. Streaking was minimal, and I like the spray at any angle feature.

  • L'Oreal Paris Ideal Skin Genesis Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 Lotion

L'Oreal Skin Genesis Daily Moisturizer is an oil-free light lotion with Pro-xylane (don't ask me what that really is, because I don't know and L'Oreal doesn't clearly say) and Hyaluronic Spheres. I found it to have a nice light feel and it absorbed very quickly. But because it lacks SPF, it won't be my everyday moisturizer. I actually have used it some at night, and primarily tested it during that time. The Skin Genesis Daily treatment is a lotion-like serum, also with Pro-xylane and Concentrated Hyaluronic. I found it similar to the lotion in terms of a light feel and quick absorption. After a few weeks of use, both products left me skin looking good and I had no issues with breakouts. I rate them as above average items in terms of drugstore moisturizing and anti-aging skin care products.

    Ojon Leave In Glossing Cream

    One of the best glossers

This is one of the best glossing creams I have tried, expensive, yes, but so are the other good ones! I found that I got more shine and great control from this than I got with my other favorite, Frederic Fekkai.Watch for it on sale at Ulta stores.

    Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask

    A Great Purifying Mask

I swear by Astara Violet Flame! Put this stuff on and you can pretty much feel it sucking the junk out of your pores. It is not to the faint hearted though. It really is a pretty strong enzyme mask. I also think it treats acne better than the blue flame mask, although I do like blue flame as well.

  • DDF Wash Off Cleanser

    DDF Wash Off Cleanser

A good basic cleanser for all skin types

DDF makes good products all around. The Wash off cleanser is no exception. This is a light, gentle cleanser that does a decent job removing dirt and makeup but without leaving the skin feeling stripped. It is one of my favorites simply because it works well for me whether my skin is being particularly dry or oily. So I can always count on it to be a safe choice.

Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush-On Sunscreen SPF 30

Wonderful Stuff. Worth the High Cost

I love the colorscience powder sunscreens. First off, these provide physical blocking for longer lasting, full spectrum protection. Second, they are a great way to reapply sunscreen over makeup. the tubes carry easily in a purse and the powder applies smoothly. They are a bit on the expensive side, but they last longer than they appear that they would and I find them well worth any extra cost. This is one of the rare products that gets a 10 from me.

  • Fekkai Multi Faceted Shine Set

    Fekkai Multi Faceted Shine Set

OK for shorter hair that need little detangling

I found the glossing set to not quite meet my needs. I have long fine hair that tangles like mad and the conditioner could not provide the detangling power that I need. The shampoo is fine. The conditioner is also fine for those with perhaps shorter or less tangled hair than mine. The glossing creme, however, is great! When used in moderation, it leaves a nice silky shine.
