  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Color Presso

The Color Presso glosses are are relatively light and non-sticky and have a delicious birthday cake scent to them that I realy enjoy, but unfortunately they're rather lacking in the pigment department. Both Swanky (which consists of a bright pink with golden shimmer on one side and golden beigey shade on the other) and Trendy (shimmer mauve and a pale baby pink) are pretty much invisible on my lips, leaving behind only a trace of shimmer and essentially no color. I really loved the packaging and concept behind these glosses, but sadly the reality wasn't so great for me, especially for $13. Since I'm generally not a lipstick/lipgloss layerer, I need for my glosses to have decent pigmenation so that they can hold their own against whatever eye makeup I'm wearing on any given day, and these just didn't deliver.

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Kohl Eyeliner

Hip's Kohl Eyeliners are very very pigmented, and contrary to the lumpy appearance of the loose powder on the applicator, apply smoothly. Well what about lasting power? Thanks to the rich pigmentation these actually stay put really well, but I did have some trouble with smudging on my upper lash line which isn't surprising since I have very oily eyelids. I do love these for the waterline though--they makes for a great pop of color that lasts for hours on end. The applicator leaves a little something to be desired. It's rather rigidly constructed, and the stiffness makes for difficult application (at least for uncoordinated lil' old me) and tons of fallout.

  • Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

Luxe quality for a great price!

I don't use many drugstore lip products as I've never found any that I've particularly liked. They're usually drying, non-pigmented, have funky flavors, or just don't come in a particularly exciting range of shades, so Max Factor's Vivid Impact Lipcolors are a welcome and much-needed addition to my local drugstore makeup aisle. They have beautiful coverage, no funky taste, come in a nice range of shades and have a great creamy formula.

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper

If you're pretty set in the length and curl departments and are just looking for some seriously dramatic volume, Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper is the mascara for you! At first blush I wasn't all that wowed by the formula--it was nice but a little natural looking for my liking. BUT one morning I happened to apply one coat of mascara, move away from my vanity to look for my LashBlast to compare, ended up not finding it, then applied a second coat of 2000 Calorie Extreme over the now dry first coat, and va-va-va-vom! Serious serious volume--I'm talking luscious, thick, fat lashes that you just can't stop admiring. 2000 Calorie Extreme isn't all that exceptional in terms of length and curl (mediocre length, not so great curl), but the volume is just killer and makes the macara worth checking out for that aspect alone. Sadly I do experience just a little bit of flaking with this, but it's nothing too unbearable.
