Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Not too exciting, but functional

My ruddy, combination, acne-prone skin and I have been at odds for years. From my very first prescription acne medication in junior high until I finally was able to undergo a double-length course of Accutane as an undergraduate, my skin and I have been trying to come to an understanding. This moisturizer has helped that along. I long thought that I didn't need a moisturizer, being on Accutane certainly changed that. Now, to be clear, I did not use this product while on Accutane (it would not have even come close to being enough moisture at that time), but rather a little over two years later. I have been using this product on and off for a little over two years. I stray to try new things and always come back to this, especially in the summer months here in Iowa. It is priced near most of the drugstore moisturizers now (anyone else notice how drugstore prices have been creeping up??) and a bottle lasts me several months. It soaks in quickly and leaves my skin feeling smooth and neither tight nor greasy. It has never elicited a break-out for me, nor has it made my eyes burn. The pump dispenser is well-done and leaves little unattainable product at the bottom of the container. All-in-all a stand-by and a win, though I doubt that I will stop searching for something that excites me more. :)

Neutrogena Body Lotion

silky, smooth, and quick

This is my favorite summer moisturizer for my body, especially right after shaving my legs. It smooths on easily, absorbs quickly, leaves my legs smooth as silk and they don't feel greasy or sticky or sweaty or icky as the day goes on, even in the heat of the day. I traveled with a touring group of high school musicians in the heat and humidity of the Iowa summer for two years and this was the only moisturizer that I found acceptable to use during that. The light sesame formula has a nice, light scent that dissipates quickly. The fragrance free truly is (thank you, Neutrogena!!!)! I use this right after my bath in the fall and winter when I am in a hurry because it moisturizes and I can get dressed right away since it doesn't take a long time to soak in. Also good for touch-ups during the day.
