  • Conair Infiniti Pro 1

This conair straightening iron goes up to 455 degrees and trust me that is MORE than enough for any hair! Any higher will burn any hair off guaranteed. I am mixed and have coarse hair. My curls are tight, small and frizz and was never pretty enough to wear down, so I always just resorted to straightening my hair. When I first bought this iron I set it to 455 and my hair had so much smoke coming in and my hair soon enough smelled of burnt hair!! But I was so pleased with how flat, straight and silky my stubborn, coarse hair was for the first time! The next day after washing my hair and conditioning and deep conditioning and applying a hair mask to "fix" my hair, I noticed my usually coarse, frizzy hair was wavy in some parts. It changed my hair texture! But I realized it burned my hair which damaged my hair into becoming straighter. So this time I made sure I used a leave-in-conditioner, frizz serum, and BioSilk to my hair and blowdryed my hair and straightened it again. But this time I didnt go all the way up to 455, I went to the second highest which was 419. It still gave me the same results as going to 455, except no burning smell in my hair and no smoke! It is now day 3 (I was my hair once a week) and despite the humidity we have here my hair is still pin straight. I love it. I recommened this to anyone but I dont think anyone should be going all the way up to 455. CONS: hard to hold in different angles, gets too hot.

  • Got2b Guardian Angel Flat Iron Balm

I used to include this in my everyday hair routine, and after finishing straightening my hair I noticed my hair was "hard". It barely had any flow and was hard to run my fingers through. I took it out of my routine recently and my hair is so much softer because I use a different heat protectant now. Im sure this product has lots of silicone or something that for sure coats your hair and protects it, but it just weighs my hair down too much. Maybe i used too much but i use the same amount of the current heat protectant I use and it doesnt get hard at all. The smell is okay. I give this product a 4 for maybe protecting my hair, the price and the way it weighs my hair down.
