  • mark Snap To It Custom Color Palette - Mezzo

I love mark and purchased their eyeshadows and some blushes which of course I don't want rolling around in my makeup cases, so I purchased this. It's basically an empty container with one magnetic strip to carry up to four eyeshadows or two blushes or two eyeshadows and one blush. It comes with one brush that is double-ended, one side being the eyeshadow brush (about half the size the original size) and the other side being the blush brush. The eyeshadow side is not a sponge anymore but a reusable regular brush. I doubt anyone will use the blush side because it is extremely small and not suitable at all to be used as a blush brush. In fact, I don't know what else you could use it for. It also has a mini mirror on the top portion of the container for touch-ups. I love the fact that you can interchange your eyeshadows at any given time to suit your needs or looks.

I love mark and purchased their eyeshadows and some blushes which of course I don't want rolling around in my makeup cases, so I purchased this. It's basically an empty container with two magnetic strips to carry up to eight eyeshadows or 4 blushes or any combination you prefer. It comes with two brushes that are double-ended, one side being the eyeshadow brush (about half the size the original size) and the other side being the blush brush. • mark Glow Xpert Face Shimmer

I got this in Candle Glo and thought this was pretty neat. Looking drab? Place a dab! I prefer my skin to look un-makey-upy, so this was a good help. At first it looks a little way too shimmery and I had no idea how to blend it onto my face. I love tinted moisturizers, so that's exactly what I used to blend it in. I first put on the Face Shimmer on my already moisturized face and then used my tint to blend it in. It's pretty good for this horrible glow stealing winter. The down-side is that having oily skin, a sponge applicator is not very sanitary. Plus having to continually shake the container to get the product on the sponge applicator really sucks. It's like you have to hit it from a certain direction for it to seep on the center. I really do wish it had a different applicator but for now, unless I come across something else, this is actually pretty good for 8 bucks.

  • mark Speedway Do Everything Makeup

This my second face product that I have purchased from mark and I got this in Natural. I love the consistency of this stuff. It's very creamy and feels velvety when applying with your fingers(I love to make it melt a little with the warmth of my hand). I really wanted to keep loving this product but sure enough it kept turning orange on me. I have oily skin but I'm dry underneath the eyes, which is where I used this. It kept settling on the one line I have under each eye and then throughout the day it just didn't want to stay!! NOT FAIR!! Plus when you actually look at how small the container is, I don't think it's really worth the 8 dollars.

Perfect for beauty on a budget!!

I am always seeking for low-priced, high-quality items everywhere from catalogs to online to drugstores. I always hesitated about mark because at the time they were a little above my taste for the price but they are in the end pretty high quality stuff. When I first got these, I thought "How cute, but really how good could it be?" These brushes are amazing! They are so small and compact yet so soft to the touch and of good quality! They do exactly what they are meant for. They come with a concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, powder and lip brush. I love the fact that I can carry my main brushes with me everywhere "just in case." The one I got is actually their signature brown with pink lining as oppose the the picture posted here (which I love brown and pink.) These brushes actually convinced me that their full-sized ones were worth it.

    mark Powder Brush

Great for a couple of bucks!

This is actually a pretty good decent brush for the price. I compared them to Estee Lauder's and Lancome's and this one picked up the powder and held it way better the the high-end stuff. I love the sleek deep brown handle. It's very soft to the face but it does seem to shed off the hair too much for my liking. I also noticed that where the top of brush met the wooden bottom half, it was a little loose, like it wasn't put right. Sure enough when I was soaking it in warm water and baby soap to wash it, the bottom part fell off. Luckily, I had a hot-glue gun and was able to put it on correctly and it's held up since then. This brush is perfect for that high-end feeling without burning a whole in your wallet!

  • Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss

I will probably never buy this in full size (my last two samples separated before I even decided to wear them) because I usually catch their sales with freebies and I hardly ever go through a whole tube of gloss, but if I had to buy one that might be close to my HG, this would probably be it. I got this in Praline (which is pretty close to my natural lip color) and Platinum. Now the platinum is more of a mixture of platinum and gold that looks like an off-white creamy beige. At first I didn't know what to do with it but it's prefect for bringing the punch out of insanely bright lip colors whether it be lipsticks or glosses to tone them down a bit and more wearable for work. It's pretty smooth upon applying it and does seem to last a good while (about 3-4 hours max depending on how much I rub my lips which is pretty often.) They have a nice scent that's not overpowering and lots of pretty colors to choose from, so your bound to find one you like. I don't find that my hair doesn't get stuck to it but I do find that it won't leave the goopy sticky residue on my hair after it does happen to come in contact with it. It also doesn't leave my lips flaky after it dries off. I have already found my HG lip gloss (obviously this isn't it) but this stuff is actually pretty decent and worth buying due to it's long-lasting power.

  • L'Oreal Paris Colour Juice Sheer Juicy Lip Gloss

I first purchased this back in high when I wanted that kinda grown-up stronger pigment look but didn't want to look like a complete grown-up. I did love the sweet but not overly sweet smell (...smackers anyone?..) and the sheerness of it. It kinda scared me at first to try new colors but I loved this. It is a little stickly but not to the extent that anyone could really hate it. It's actually pretty thick and does leave the hair-stuck-to-your-mouth effect but the colors are so pretty and pleasant smelling that I can't help it. Fours years after first trying it and I will keep buying it. GOOD NEWS!! I found this out years ago so for all you LANCOME LOVERS this is the same thing as Lancome's Juicy Tubes. Trust me. I always buy Lancome when they have those sales promotions with the free goodies and I recognized the scent but couldn't put my finger on it. Sure enough, it felt, smelled, and did the exact same thing as L'Oreals (and if your a makeup freak researcher like me, you probably remember that all this huge cosmetics counters are basically the same DS stuff you find at Wal-Mart and Walgreens...they just put a different label to sell the BRAND!!) Now back to the review, I got this first in Caramel Creme which I love and looks nice on my semi-olive yellow-undertoned skin. My only gripe about it is you have to reapply it every hour and when it does dry off completely you're left with this small glitter on you lips which won't completely come off without washing. Other than that, it's worth the money especially with coupons!

  • Kinerase Ultimate Night Moisturizer

(I can't find one for Kinerase Ultimate Day Moisturizer so I'll place my review here because I'm pretty sure it's about the same) I've read about this in all my mags but was immediatly turned off by the price (more money doesn't necessarily equal better product as many of us here have learned.) So when I placed my next order at Sephora, I chose this as one of my samples. I used the following morning and didn't like how thick it felt and moisturizing it was. It really is amazing for those dry skins (mine's oily) so I didn't mess with it anymore. Then I ran out of my moisturizer and decided to try and finish this off to avoid going to the store. I'M IN LOVE!! When I first tried it, it was post summer but still hot and now it's winter and perfect for me!! I love how really helps my dry areas (my underyes, around the nose and lips) and stays soft throughout the day. Sadly, I am now trying to get the last bits out and can't really afford it. (Darn Sephora and their tempting samples!) Oh well, although this is my HG moisturizer, I'm forced to painfully look elsewhere.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

Sorry, I'm not into the orange tan crazed look....

I bought this a couple months ago in N4 and was looking for a very natural looking foundation that cover my redness and evened out my skin tone without screaming "MAKEUP". I really don't know what all the hype was about. It's like all you hear from are the women who first come across this but not from the ones who've used it for at least 2 weeks or 3. I did love it at first (as everyone usually does with their newly bought products) and thought "Hey this is pretty awesome for a drugstore foundation!" After 2 weeks, I noticed how it was just a really thin formula that was very sheer so it appeared to "blend" into my own skin but really didn't. It just sat on top of my skin. To top it off, in less than three hours after puttin it on, I looked a little muddy and it turned orange!! Also, I could barely touch my face and the foundation would transfer to whatever had landed on it. I would wipe my mouth after eating a little or blow my nose and it would just disappear off my face. I was extremely turned off by the glass container, which seemed interesting at first (because I've never had one) but isn't travel-friendly for obvious reasons. The two things I liked about this foundation is that fact that a little does go a long way(I use a foundation brush by the way.) And the second thing, you do have alot of colors to pick from. That's what had gotten my attention in the first place. Before this completely turns you off, I have oily skin which more than likely played a huge role in everything I hated about it. But in my defense, I did everything I could to love this (primer, toner, washing face 2x a day kept it clean, oil-free products) and none of it worked. Plus, if I have to do all that just to try and make it work a little for me its just not worth my time.
