  • SK-II Facial Clear Solution

I tried this as part of a magazine review for moisturizers for oily skin. Out of 4 products, this was my least favorite. It just didn't do anything; it didn't decrease the amount of oil visible on my face; in fact, it made my face feel a little greasier. My face didn't feel moisturized; just greasy. Also, I didn't like the smell.

  • Sally Hansen Natural Shine Instant Nail Finish

These are great: they are a breeze to apply and dry very quickly. The effect is somewhere between nail buffing and a clear polish. I never have my fingernails done because they get ruined so quickly. This is a great way to create a look that is classy and neat without spending too much time or money.

    Propoline Black Current Lip Aid

    Great stuff plus has SPF!

It's in a cute, sporty container and gives you both great moisture and great protection. This company is based in Greece, so if you end up traveling to Greece, pick this stuff up in any pharmacy and it will be cheaper than it is here - same goes for Korres products.

  • Physicians Formula Cheek Palette Cream-To-Powder Blush

Maybe I'm just not using this the right way, but it doesn't work for me. When I try to blend the colors on my hand, they dry too quickly to a powder. I don't like the idea of blending right on my cheeks because any mistakes or imbalances will be harder to fix. Doesn't it make more sense to blend on my hand than on my face? Or maybe I'm supposed to blend on the palette itself? I'm just confused by this.

  • Tweezerman No-Slip Skin Care Tool

I know you're not supposed to squeeze, but sometimes you just can't resist. This tool will get ride of whiteheads and blackheads with less damage than you would cause if using your fingers. Since I started using this, I have a lot less scarring and a pimple, once squeezed takes less time to heal. Just be sure to swipe the ends with alcohol every once in awhile to prevent bacteria.

  • T. LeClerc Powder Blush

    T. LeClerc Powder Blush

OK blush, but not a whole lot of pigment

I bought this in the lightest shade, Rose Tendre. I'm very pale, so I like the shade in the compact but when I put it on my cheeks it hardly shows up at all. It's a high-quality, finely milled powder, but just doesn't have enough pigment for me.

  • DuWop Blush Therapy

    DuWop Blush Therapy

    Funky idea, decent blush

The concept is really creative; the inside of the cap has an aromatherapy gel that is meant to provide the "therapy." This is a decent blush stick; the texture is creamy but a bit thick. I prefer the sheer texture and finish of Stila's convertible colors.

  • Davies Gate Cardamom Foot Butter - Seeds & Grains

This cream is light and fast-absorbing, but I don't feel that it really penetrates all the rough layers of skin on my feet. I prefer the thicker and better-smelling Burt's Bees Coconut Foot oil.

  • Tocca Candela

    Tocca Candela

    My favorite candles!

Yes, they are expensive, but the amazing scents and the burning time make them worth it. Other candle companies make similar scents, like the blood orange that forms the base of Tocca's Stella scent, but what makes Tocca so different is that the scents are more refined and less cloying. I recommend Stella, the blood orange, and Florence, which they say is some kind of rose, but to me has a cucumber/green tea tinge to it. I also recommend Vittorio for the holidays, which is a great sophisticated pine, unlike those really strong versions that are out there.

    Tocca Beauty Bagno Da Viaggio

    Makes a great gift

I bought this for myself in Stella because I loved the scent and wanted to try some Tocca products. Stella is such a gorgeous scent; citrusey but so unique. If you like the scent, I highly recommend ponying up for the larger candles since the candelina doesn't burn for very long. The cream is great and moisturizing, but it's a bit different from the regular Stella scent; it's a little bit more flowery and powdery. The gel is the same great scent as the candle. This would make a great gift because of the elegant packaging; it' s a very special set.
