Dont Use if you have dark hair and want it lighter!!

i have dark brown hair and i tried to dye it Dark Auburn, color # 31. the box said it would take BLACK hair to a medium auburn shade. Well now i have LIGHT BROWN spotted roots and the rest of my hair is still dark brown! I knew it wouldnt be able to change black hair, only bleach can do that but i figured my dark brown hair would lift at least alittle. NOPE! Waste of Money. Now i have re dye my hair, Thanks Revlon!
