In the past I always tried to use temporary color on my hair so when it grew out, I wouldn’t have that ugly line to deal with. I usually use a dark blonde color and like the way it turns out, but when I went to buy my temporary color this time I couldn’t find any blonde colors available. I guess them don’t make it anymore Now you know why I tried the Nice and Easy for the first time. I used their medium blonde color and thought it turned out a little champagne colored at first (that wore out after the first wash). I didn’t like the pink look that I had at first, but after washing my hair looked good and I had several compliments on it. I have very sensitive fair/medium skin and didn’t have any problems with burning or discoloration on my skin or scalp. My hair is about half light brown and half grey. I wanted the blonde to cover up the grey and give me some highlights and that is exactly the way it worked out. The color chart provided on the package described the results I received exactly when I checked what would happen with light brown/ grey hair. The directions were easy to follow, and I left the color on the amount of time recommended. It was easy to apply (I used the foam type), easy to rinse out, and it didn’t have that awful ammonia smell that some permanent colors have. I have large hands and I was even able to use the gloves they provided which sometimes isn’t possible because they are too flimsy or too small. I was very satisfied with Nice ‘n Easy because it had a reasonable price, it was easy to use, and my hair has a nice, natural and pleasing color.

I’ll start off by saying that I wasn’t willing to spend the $10 that these retail for, but I found them at an Ulta sale for $2.50. I heard such great things about them, I was READY to try them! I am super picky about my nails; I guess mainly because I inherited hard, long growing nails so I am spoiled with that genetic blessing. Remember the time and practice it took you to be good at doing a manicure or give up and decide that you would rather just pay to have them done??? I think that it will take just as much time to be good at applying these. Problem One: I have large hands and nails, so none of the ready size nails fit my hands. And remember, I am picky so I want them to fit. You do too probably, so I think there aren’t many people that these will fit perfectly. Problem two: When I applied these to my fingers, there were some places that “stuck together”. I used a pattern (it was a cute denim look), so it was hard to see the imperfections. But my big trouble is that I know the flaws are there and it creeps me out. Remember, I admit to being hard to please in the nail department. I would never be able to use these with a solid color. If I find another deal on them and there are some great patterns available, I will be tempted to try them again. My problems with these Salon Effects are that I found them generally hard to apply to my satisfaction, they didn’t fit my hands, and the regular price is more than I am willing to pay for one manicure. On the other hand;) I thought that many of the patterns available looked great.

I want to start out at the beginning admitting that I LOVE Bare Escentuals products. I use their cleansers, tanner, foundation, mascara, etc., etc., etc. But I am with most of the crowd on Rare Minerals. I don’t know if it works or doesn’t work! I guess that means I need to give it a score of five. First of all, I have dry and sensitive skin but it has been clear and decent looking for most of my life. A few years ago, I decided to splurge and see an aesthetician, after which I ended up with red sploches like a clown all over my face. She told me that I had the MOST sensitive skin she had ever seen (good way to end that confrontation) and sent me off to look for jojoba oil to both cleanse and moisturize until hopefully I would go back to normal. It worked! Now, years later, I am still using that jojoba oil along with mostly Bare Minerals products. Long story still long ;) I never bought the Rare Minerals as a separate product, it came in some kits I bought from, you know who, one of those TV marketing sites. I’ll just come straight out and admit, I would never pay the regular price on most of these products. If I didn’t get them at a much lower price that is available in the kits, I wouldn’t be buying them. Anyway, I never liked the container applicator and after trying to make it work a few times, I took that apart and started applying the minerals with one of my many brushes (that came in one of those kits!) I usually used the product on my weekly cleanse, masque, moisturize, etc. that I half the time forget to do. I found that it worked out best to apply this to my clean skin and then moisturize after Rare Minerals. Sorry that I can’t honestly answer the question of, “Does it work or not?”

I have dry, sensitive skin and usually use Jojoba oil as a cleanser and moisturizer. I know it sounds crazy, but I had a disaster several years ago after I tried a product recommended by an aesthetician and the jojoba oil was the only thing that saved me. In the summer, I feel like I need to use a “regular” cleanser a few times each week and this is my go to product! I just dampen my face, place just a small drop on my hands and slather up. Literally, just a little dab will give you a nice cleansing especially if you like that bubbly clean lather. Don’t get me wrong. It isn’t a soapy, dry feeling; your skin will feel clean and moist. This product came in a kit that I bought from one of the TV sites. You know the one….and I buy most of my beauty products in a kit. I just wait until one comes up that has products that I use and I really save by purchasing that way. If you ever see a presentation on this one, you will see the models remove TONS of make-up with just a little dab of this cleanser. I can vouch for the fact that it really works to clean your face completely! I also enjoy using this cleanser with my Clarisonic. I try to use it at least once a week, but honestly I forget as much as I follow through. After cleansing, I use a masque or apply honey (a natural antibiotic), followed by a moisturizer. I think this deep cleansing foam is a great product for the Clarisonic. My skin feels fantastic after this ritual (you would think that would help me remember to do it more often!) All in all, I enjoy using this cleanser on my dry, sensitive skin with great positive results.

This Lip Infusion is different from any chap stick or lip balm that I’ve tried before. I have issues with dry and chapped lips, so I am forever searching for something that will make my lips feel and look better. I’m still searching. When first applied, Cherry Splash gives you a little blast of cool minty feeling on your lips. A light and pleasant cherry fragrance also is released just at the time of application. The most unusual part of applying this to your lips is the oily feeling and shiny appearance on your lips. I love to use oils on my hair and skin, so the oily feel doesn’t bother me, but even though I have used this for a long period of time the oily feeling on my lips still feels different. It has 15 spf to give you protection from the sun. With the name Cherry Splash, you might think this would give you a little splash of color but this lip infusion is colorless. If you like to new things that are really different, then for $3, how can you go wrong. I’ve tried it so I won’t be buying again. I’m still searching for that perfect lip protection.

I have a couple of problems with this product. It comes in a jar, which means that you stick your fingers in the cream in order to apply. I really have a problem with this since no matter how clean you are, you could have microbes on your hands that now are in your face cream. I don’t know about you, but it takes me awhile to use a whole container of product so that gives those little bugs some time to grow in the cream you are applying to your face. NOT good! Secondly, the cream is a little heavy for daytime and my skin is a dry at times. If your skin is the least oily I think you might have a problem with No 7 Day Cream. It also contains sunscreen (12 spf) and with the current controversy on the best type of spf to use, I don’t want sunscreen in all of the products I use. Lately it seems like everyone jumped on the bandwagon and introduced it into their products. I’m not so sure that’s a good thing. Now, on the plus side, this cream glides on and just a couple of drops will cover your face. It has a light, pleasant fragrance and feels great on your skin. I bought this product after Dr. Oz and Oprah (it seems like that’s who gave the recommendation) did one of their shows and raved about how great and economical the No 7 products were that you could pick up at Target. So, you know it’s been awhile since that show! I checked the price today and it is up to $20.99. In my opinion, there are better daytime moisturizers out there, so I would recommend that you pass on this one. I give Boots No 7 Time Resisting Day Cream a thumbs down.

Well, I asked my stylist to recommend a product to tame my thin, fine flyaway hair and she told me to start with the lease invasive product of all, a light mousse without any alcohol. Well, since I didn't have time to make a search for the non-alcohol product and wanted to start the experiment, I went with this since it was available at my old stand=by "The Dollar Store" (LOVE IT) Unfortunately, I don't think that any mousse will work on my hair even though it is very fine. I was able to tame down some of my hair that was sticking straight up by waiting until it was dry to apply this product. I was not able, however, to do ANY styling with this product. The only other help it gave me was to help some of the fly-aways go with the other hair in the direction it wanted to go anyway. That isn't what I am looking for at all. I want something that will give me some control and help me to tame this mess down and make it go the direction I WANT IT TO GO!!! Right now I am at the mercy of seven cowlicks that direct my hair in seven different directions. HELP! One important tip that the stylist gave me is to make sure my hair is dry before I apply this product. I’m just kidding about using Vaseline, but it seems like I would need something at least that strong to give me the control I need to make these cowlicks go in a direction they don’t want to go. I really don’t want to have anything that thick or greasy on my hair, so I’m not sure that I am ready to go for the gel. At this point, I find out which way my hair wants to go each morning and work with that just using the mousse to work with the stragglers that are sticking out. If I look at it from that angle, then the mousse is really helping out at this point!

this product was easy to use, but it didn't stay on for 15 minutes. it could be due to the fact that i use jojoba oil as a cleanser and moisturizer because of my allergies. i haven't been able to find a liner that works for me, and i will be returning this one.

This brush works great for me. I follow the swirl, tap, buff method recommended and have coverage with just a couple of swirls into product. I have been using the foundation since 2004 and haven't ever noticed my brushes shedding. I still have the first one I started with and it isn't quite as soft as a new one, but I am still using it as a spare in my travel bag. Like others have mentioned, I wash my brush as often as I can with a gentle shampoo.
