My longish dark hair is on the thick and wavy side, and this cream is the perfect consistency for it. The scent is great (fresh, lemony, subtle), but most importantly it defrizzes my hair even though I don't blowdry. Highly recommended!

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Compact Powder Foundation
Great mineral foundation for normal-to-oily skin
I've been using this since late spring, and I really love it. When I wear it I just look like I have great skin, not a face covered in makeup. One tip: discard the sponge it comes with and swirl on a bit at a time with a brush instead.

I don't usually love sweet florals, and the fragrance description wouldn't make me think it was the scent for me. But I got a sample of this and I love it! It's sweet in a good way, as opposed to a cheap-perfume or juvenile way. It's fresher than I would have thought, and it doesn't smell foodie at all (on me, anyway, thankfully). It's a good daytime scent for me; I can wear it around my students and not come across as too sexy or too immature either.

I unabashedly love Dream Cream--my only wish is that it cost less! The scent may not agree with some people--it seems like a lot of Americans go for fruity berry or fake vanilla fragrances--but do try it in a store if you have the chance. Imagine the scent of oatmeal steeped in warm milk, with notes of rosewater and lavender--that's Dream Cream. I personally love it at bedtime, and keep it on my nightstand for winter-dry legs, feet and hands. The texture is great, very soothing and deeply moisturizing. There's a reason it's a top seller and a cult favorite!

Lush shower gels are hit-or-miss for me because I adore some of their scents and can't stand others. The best, in my opinion, is Tramp (deep green, leafy, not sweet at all but still very feminine); if you love the smell of a walk through a mossy, damp green forest, then this is for you! There is also a discontinued wash that comes back periodically, with cocoa butter, cloves and a non-cloying white chocolate . . .truly yummy in a grown-up sophisticated way. What I really dislike are the following: Flying Fox (stinky, not at all like jasmine blossoms or honey); Olive Branch (dusty); Sonic Death Monkey (doesn't smell like real coffee or chocolate, sadly)

I love the idea of solid perfumes, and I have a few of them from other fragrance companies. While in London recently I was excited to try the new solid Potion scent, since it was one of my favorites as a lotion. However, I can smell a distinct metallic note in the solid, due perhaps to the little tin it comes in. Keep trying, Lush!

Overall, I love Lush's bath bombs. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, and you've gotta applaud the devotion to organic, natural products. Scent is always personal, but my faves tend toward the crisp and refreshing (e.g., Avobath, Big Blue) or the girly and sparkly (Think Pink, Fairy Jasmine) or the spicy (Hot Java). I'm generally not a fan of the popular foodie scents with caramel and honey and all that. Color is important to me, too--I love the green, blue, violet and pink baths, but don;t care for the bombs that turn the water yellow or dingy. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already!

The manufacturer's info describes this as a yummy scent. Not for me! It just doesn't smell like sugared almonds and citrus, etc. as it claims to. Overly sweet and strong.

This is one of those widely loved scents that just don't smell good to me. It smells like strong, sweet perfume and artificial floral notes. Sorry!

Omnia Amethyste is a delicate and sophisticated scent without the artificial sweet notes of so many other floral fragrances. It's light and airy, very feminine, and reminiscent of Sarah Jessica Parker's first scent, Lovely.
