L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes

Great Concept Not So Great Mascara

Let's face it, we are all looking for a miracle mascara that will give us long luscious lashes. So when I first read about L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes mascara, I thought it's either got to be a gimmick or L'Oreal has come up with a pretty good innovative concept. What it is: It's a two step process. The first step you apply the white base coat which is on one end of the mascara tube. By the way, don't let the base coat dry out before you apply your mascara, or you will end up with clumping. I did a couple of coats of the primer and then shortly after applied the mascara. I did a second coat of mascara as well. It claims to visibly lengthen your lashes up to 80%. What it does: This mascara coats each lash with an innovative formula that sets to "form tubes" surrounding each lash, visibly extending your fringe up to 80% of the original length. The applicators are shorter, which I don't mind since I find it does give you more control. Overall, this mascara did give my lashes some extra length but lacked in the volume department. I didn't experience any flaking and it lasted all day. However, after washing my face with my cleanser, I noticed stringy pieces of the black "tubes" on my face. I was just a little shocked to see those stringy goopy things on my skin. I had high hopes for this mascara but unfortunately it just did not perform the way I would have liked it to.

  • Crabtree & Evelyn Aromatherapy Distillations Revitalizing - Skin Conditioning Body Wash

I recently tried this product and I must admit that I was rather surprised at how well it lathered up. Most body washes that I have tried, produced little to no lather at all. So being a lather junkie, I can say that this product really delivered in that department. It did do a pretty decent job of leaving my skin feeling refreshed and clean. It's not very moisturizing but it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry either. As far as the scent goes...it smelled a little too much like medicine, similar to Vicks Vaporub, but that is due in part to the added eucalyptus oils. However, the added lime oils impart a fruity aroma to the herbacious scent of the eucalyptus making it a more enjoyable scent. I have to admit I'd rather have my bathroom shower smelling like a tropical oasis than a medicine cabinet. I think I will stick to my foodie scented products, even if they do give me bad food cravings.

    DDF Protect and Correct

Not a Great Moisturizer but Not Bad Either.

Reclaim the natural radiance of even-toned, more youthful skin while helping to prevent future discoloration. This facial moisturizer contains a potent Micro-Radiance Complexâ„¢ and diminishes the look of discoloration for even, translucent, healthy looking skin. Also contains SPF 15 to help protect from UVA/UVB damage and future hyperpigmentation. Helps correct the look of discoloration. Helps prevent future hyperpigmentation with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Evens skin tone for visible radiance. According to DDF skincare, hyperpigmentation can be treated within a skin care regimen that includes effective ingredients and diligent use of sunscreens. As a retired sun worshiper, I have inherited my fair share of hyperpigmentation. Being Greek/Italian I am prone to getting skin discolorations. Have you heard the saying: "fry now, pay later"? Well those words are 100% accurate when it comes to the sun and our skin. We need to be well stocked up on sunscreen lotions to prevent any further damage to our skin. And to help us in preventing any future discolorations are products like DDF Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer SPF 15. I was given this moisturizer by Total Beauty to try out and I have been using it for almost a month now and while I haven't noticed any changes in my hyperpigmentation, I have noticed that my skin appears brighter. Now just because I haven't noticed my discolorations getting lighter, doesn't mean that this product does not deliver. With continued use, I am sure I will begin to notice some changes. This moisturizer is light-weight and has the consistency of a sunscreen lotion. The scent is pleasant and smells similar to other sunscreen lotions I have used. The DDF line was founded in 1991 by world renowned dermatologist, Dr. Howard Sobel, to provide his patients with over-the-counter products that deliver effective results backed by professional knowledge. Recommended as an effective UV Sunscreen by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

  • Bliss Triple Oxygen Self-Activating Facial With O2 Molecules

This is now one of my favorite masks to use when I need a quick-fix for my tired dull looking skin. I have to confess I have never used any products by Bliss before and I must say this product has been a great introduction to the brand. What it is: According to the package: "it's a "take out" version of bliss spa's most famous facial, the Triple Oxygen Treatment (a favorite of so many stunningly skinned celebs, we wouldn't want to dull you with the details). At home, once, twice, or for the obsessive even thrice a week, this flash-action mask will deliver a shot of oxygen, a dose of a powerhouse form of Vitamin C, asmattering of anti-free radicals, and a moisture fix, to instantly spiff up your skin when you find it looking a little 'low' life." What it does: According to the package "it's formulated to release oxygen onto the skin, so your complexion is cleaner, brighter, fresher, and younger-looking, almost instantly. It's like a breath of fresh air for your face." What I liked: it was easy to use and not at all messy. It's got a yummy scent to! Even though I have only been using it for about two weeks now, my skin looks and feels fabulous! What I didn't like: it took forever to wash off. But when it did, my skin felt great! I would definitely recommend this mask to anyone who is looking to refresh and revive their dull skin. So before you book your next spa appointment, try out Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask. You will be so glad you did.

Broadway Nails: Glamour on a Budget

Having well-groomed or manicured nails make a great first impression but not only that they are also a great fashion accessory. But let's face it, who has the time or the money to spare? It can get quite costly and the way our economy is right now we need to find cheaper alternatives. I received this set of fake nails to try out recently. Now I know that some of you might turn up your noses at these glue on nails just like I did, but I have to tell you that they are just as good if not better than having them done at a salon. Just my personal opinion though. I used to get the acrylics, gels, and silk wraps done and spent a small fortune over the years. So this really is a cheap alternative. Plus you don't have to keep returning to the salon for fill ins and more roughing up of the nail bed. Here is what you get in the kit: 24 French Nails with Self Tabs Twist-Off Pink Gel Glue 2 gm/0.07 oz Glue Stand Manicure Stick Mini File Full cover nails applied with glue usually last up to 10 days. This of course depends on how fast your nails grow and how tough you are on your hands. Wear beyond 10 days is not recommended. They will certainly come in handy for a special occasion when one doesn't have the time to get a manicure/pedicure done. You really should check them out, they are worth it. I guess I should also mention here that I have tried the glue on french manicure nails for the toes! Yes, you heard me right, I have used the ones for the toe nails and they look awesome to!
