Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

    Keep these in your purse

I keep these in my purse with me because they are so effective. Having an oily t-zone, I usually get shiny by the afternoon. These remove every bit of shine and oil build up without out messing up my foundation. I especially make sure to have these with me when I'm traveling by air. There is a store brand at Target that also (about a buck cheaper) seems to do just as well, although I have not done an official side-by-side comparison. Whichever brand you chose, these area must for anyone with combo or oily skin. I have not tried any other blotting paper other than these two mentioned (FYI).

  • Butter London Nail Lacquer

    Butter London Nail Lacquer

    Pricey but Good

This polish would be a 9 if it weren't for the fact that it is so pricey compared to other polishes. I purchased the "violet's revenge," and was very happy with its shine, color, and staying power. Compared to colors of similar opacity, the Butter polish did require about 2x the number of coats. So apart from this and the price, I am very pleased. I also like that the handle (under the larger black lid, which is removable) is smaller than other polishes and is therefore easier to control.

  • Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

One of Origins' best for Combo/Oily Skin

This is probably my favorite all-around cleanser, not to mention favorite Origins product. It lathers on like a dream and a little pea-sized amount is all you need for your face and neck. The smell is refreshingly minty but not in any way similar to a toothpaste. This cleanser is best for those with combination or oily skin. After rinsing, my face always feels incredibly clean. Again, I would not recommend this for people with typically dry skin.

Aveeno Positively Ageless Daily Cleansing Pads

    Definitely a Buy-Again Product

This is one of those products that I have consistently gone back to. There is a soft side and a more coarse side. The pads are quite large, so I usually cut them all in half with scissors when I first open the package to get more for my money. I have turned to these pads more often than my Olay micro abrasion brush because I feel these do a much better job in exfoliating and cleaning my skin. I have oily-combination skin and have no problems using these pads every day. I always follow with a moisturizer or moisturizing serum.

Burt's Bees Radiance Body Lotion With Royal Jelly

    "Radiance" on package was misleading

I would have loved to give this product a fair try but was disappointed when I noticed the glitter in the product. I had assumed, by "radiance", that it would be very subtle and similar to the some of the moisturizers claiming the same thing by Olay. Instead, there was a visible transparent glitter all over my hands and arms that was too much for comfort. This product would best be marketed as a subtle shimmering lotion.

  • Beessential Lemon Lavender Lip Balm

    Beessential Lemon Lavender Lip Balm

For those of us in the Midwest...

I can't recommend this product enough. (I only wish it was it was carried in more stores.) Being in the Midwest, I had never been satisfied with Burt's bees and how it doesn't quite do the job during the cold winters here. My lips certainly felt protected with Burt's Bees, but my lips never felt healed. At first application of the Beecology, the first thing I noticed was the relief! Whatever is in this product heals and and gives great protection to boot. Last, you'd think that lavender and lemon don't go together at all - especially lavender on the lips - but you'll love once you try it. I've been so happy with this chapstick that I gave it out to friends & family at Christmas.

  • Beessential All Natural Bar Soap

    Beessential All Natural Bar Soap

    Lavender is a must-try

I tried a few of Beecology's bar soaps and found that the lavender was by far my favorite. While it doesn't generate a super amount of lather, the lather it did make was creamy, plenty moisturizing, and spreadable enough to use for winter shaving. Since I let it dry between uses, it lasted at least 2 months. Although it is not as moisture-packed as a Dove beauty bar, this turned out to be a great bath bar for my skin last winter (Midwest).

    Amazing smell, absolutely no lather

I am a huge fan of Beecology / Beessential's products. Their lemon lavender lip balm is an absolute must-try and an all time favorite of mine. That being said, I don't find myself as happy with their body wash (Lavender in my case). The pure, non-adulterated lavender scent is heavenly. Fans of Whole Food's store line of lavender bath products will appreciate the quality of the lavender smell this product possesses. Unfortunately, the product had no lathering qualities. I do understand this may be because of the quality of ingredients used and the commitment the company makes to producing chemical-free products. Since I'm not very read on good or bad chemical products, I can only comment on how much I like using it. Because of no lather, I never was sure whether I was using enough product or even too much. It was difficult to know whether or not any of the soap even got on my body at all and I won't be buying it again.

    Hempz Herbal Moisturizer

    Best performing lotion I've tried

Either you love the smell of this one, or it's just so so. Thankfully the fragrance is not very strong. (It may not even be fragrance I'm smelling, but the sent of the basic ingredients themselves.) That said, this is the best lotion I have tried. I'm not a big moisturizer connoisseur, only because I didn't see much of a visible difference of using one any other time than the winter. This one is so effective I've been using it all summer long just because of how soft it makes my skin. It seems to even out its texture, if that's possible. My skin seems to soak up the product immediately and not a lot of rubbing in is necessary. The fact that most lotions take forever to rub in, in my experience, is a real plus for me. Apart from the smell not being my absolute favorite, this product is a little on the pricey side for me. Still, I think I will be going back for this one. It's worth it.

  • Colgate Optic White Toothpaste

Since childhood my teeth were a bit more sensitive than others. I had previously been a fan of a Crest sensitive plus Scope whitening and was mostly happy. Because a less than white smile is a dead giveaway that someone's no longer young, having a whiter smile is important to me. Crest's high prices convinced me to give this Colgate one a try. After 6 months I've had little or no sensitivity issues and notice a brighter smile. The taste is pleasing, not too piercingly mint, as some pastes can be, and has no "paste" or sandy texture. After rinsing my mouth always feels clean with no residual film. The biggest plus about this paste, aside from the great results, is that it is so much more affordable despite being one of the leading whitening pastes. It is often at sale in places like Target and it is easy to find $1 off coupons in the newspaper and as an online printable. Highly recommended, especially if you're budget minded, but mostly because it works!
