  • Vichy Laboratories Normaderm Daily Exfoliating Cleansing Gel

I've been using normaderm for years, until it stopped working for me. But the best thing in that line is the scrub. Its gel based which works better for my skin, and has tiny microbeads. When it works it doesn't aggravate the acne or oil because its mostly gel with a small number of microbeads in it. Definitely a staple.

  • Vichy Laboratories Vichy Normaderm Pro Mat Ultra Matifying Oil-Free Lotion

This pro mat is much better than the matting lotion they had before, and works better than the regular moisturizer in the white bottle. I find it matts nicely, but as I started to finish the bottle I noticed it wasn't as effective. I used vichy normaderm products since I was 16 and stopped using it when I was about 23 because my face just got used to the products and stopped working - or maybe they changed the formulation. Usually when the bottle changes, the formulation changes also.

  • Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

Works better for oily skin compared to the Dermal Clay - you only need a little bit! I find my face is cleaner when I use it with the skin prep scrub or a wash cloth to wash it off.

  • Dermalogica mediBac Clearing Overnight Clearing Gel

I've been using the product for three weeks, and wasn't getting the desired results as soon as I expected. For the cost of this product, I should see results immediately. I find you have to use about a quater size all over the face for it to work. Once I increased the amount, I saw the results. My face still isn't 100% clear.

  • Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser

I find if you have really oily skin, I find this cleanser just adds residue to the face. It doesn't deep clean at all. Perhaps if you have oily skin, but it's clear without a real need for deep clean (if that's even possible) then it may work for you. For me the special cleansing gel and medi bac cleansers work better. I will choose a gel cleanser over anything else, any day

  • Dermalogica acne prone skin kit

I think Dermalogica did a good job with this line. I don't have serious acne, just oily skin and blemishes. I don't need to use everything in this line, so I like the fact that I can mix acne products with oily skin products and get a specialized program for my skin. I think it takes a while for Dermalogicas products to really work - within 3-4 weeks you should see a difference. ALSO I find you have to use more of the product to see any results. For example, I increased the amount of break out control serum I used and I noticed a difference. Some things can not be used sparingly, otherwise they will take way too long to work. I also get better results using a wash cloth when removing the cleanser - my face feels cleaner.

Stops Shine - Doesn't Stop Oil

This product matts, BUT my skin still gets oily. It doesn't prevent the oil, it just stops the shine. I think it's important to note that. If you are looking for something that prevents oil and stops shine, try Vichy Pro Mat. I do like the way the product goes on the skin though. It's thicker but light and fluffy at the same time.

  • Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

This product was too light and didn't provide the exfoliation I was looking for. I also didn't like the fact that you have to add water to it for it to work - too much hassle. For oilier skin, or skin with darker scars and imperfections or if you are looking for that "clean" feel after you scrub, try the Skin Prep Scrub.

  • Dermalogica ChrmoaWhite TRx Tri-Active Cleanse

I was really looking forward to this product line, but it did nothing. Perhaps it's more suited for caucasian skin with light scars/imperfections. This cleanser is also very horrible for oily skin.

  • Dermalogica Active Moist

    Dermalogica Active Moist

    Good Moisturizer - bit heavy

The first time I used the Active Moist was about a year ago, and it was winter so it was great. Oily skin needs the right moisturizer - however now I find if you use too much it can encourage oil on the skin - you have to use it very sparingly. I wouldn't use this in the summer either, I would switch to Oil Control Lotion. I would've preferred if the consistency was thicker yet light and fluffy - its too runny, every time I open the cap it just pours out.
