Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

Great product for those of us with combination skin!

I tried Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser a long time ago by my dermatologist due to a dry rash on my legs. It was years later that it was again recommended to me, this time by an online friend for use on my acne prone face. Amazingly, using the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser followed by the Cetaphil Lotion did wonders for my face! I have virtually no break outs and my skin seems much healthier. When using harsher acne products I was drying the skin out and causing more blemishes. Using simply the "Cetaphil System" as I call it, and only using an occasional benzoyl peroxide spot treatment for rare blemishes, my skin looks better than it has in years. Plus, since I am no longer using harsh cleansers I don't battle the dry spots on my face either.

Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara

Definitely a great mascara for those on a budget... and for some who aren't!

I didn't try this mascara until I was well into my 20's. I purchased it on sale and was surprised that for me it worked well. I have even received compliments on my lashes. Since switching to this product, I have occasionally strayed to other (more expensive) brands only to return to Great Lash. It has been my experience that the more expensive brands have the same flaws, just at a higher cost.

Crest Pro-Health Multi-Protection Rinse

Great rinse without the "burn" of others, recommended by my dentist

I had been using a harsher alcohol based rinse for years, but was suffering from dry mouth due to the alcohol. My dentist office actually had been contacted to participate in a study for new Crest products, and being that my sister is the hygienist, we were some of the first guinea pigs. We were given the Crest Pro-Health to use and reported back our experience. I must say, I really liked how clean my mouth felt without the burn I was getting with alcohol based rinses. According to my dentists, the patients by and far preferred it over other rinses. The office now completely uses and recommended Crest Pro-Health to all of their patients. My ONLY complaint is that it is a little pricey when there are several cheaper options on the shelves next to it in the store.

BareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Incredible product that changed the way I looked at makeup... I have been using it for 5 years and will never go back to another makeup!

I first tried BareMinerals when a friend of mine ordered a starter kit. I was obviously skeptical until I let her do my makeup. I was literally blown away. It didn't feel like I was wearing makeup, and yet I looked great, like a better "natural" version of myself. When I put on my traditional liquid makeup the next day, I felt greasy and unnatural. I quickly ordered a starter kit of my own and have never looked back. I think the quality of the products is excellent and it definitely lives up to its claims. I have combination acne prone skin and that seen a dramatic reduction in breakouts since I began wearing Bare Minerals. While many people are skeptical of the price, they have to remember that a little goes a long way. I actually spend less in a year on Bare Minerals than I did using Max Factor makeup. I love this makeup for many reasons. The most significant for me is feels great on my skin, and I look like the best version of myself. It looks like I am naturally flawless and glowing. Nothing feels better than my husband overhearing a coworkers wife talking about how beautiful my skin was and how she didn't even think I wore makeup!

Crest Whitestrips Premium

Great results at a reasonable price, I recommended them to my whitening patients in a dental office.

I had reservations about trying this product because I had no results when using an off-brand whitening strip. However, the price was great compared to in-office procedures at my dentist office. So, I gave them a try and had amazing results. Ironically, I was later hired into a dental office to perform in-office whitening procedures and prep patients for at-home whitening systems. Many of my patients commented on my teeth and wanted to know which option I had chose, the in-office or the take home bleach trays. I was honest with them and recommended Crest WhiteStrips, as did many of the hygienists that I worked with. In the patients who still chose the in-office whitening, we recommendede that they immediately follow-up with the Crest Whitestrips for added whitening. Especially for younger patients (late teens to early thirties) who generally experience more sensitivity with the more intense in-office whitening, the Crest strips are a great alternative. While sensitivity is normal with any whitening, it can be very uncomfortable for people having in-office whitening. I recently started my second round of Crest Whitestrips and already notice a difference. I am thrilled to have a lower cost alternative to professional whitening that I know from experience gives excellent results.
