About Me
Hi, I just figured out that this section exists... I am 48... soon to be 49. I bought my first brown eyeliner at Clinque in 1980 when I was 15. I really became a makeup junkie in the 2000's when the King of Prussia mall expanded and I had access to Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom's and Sephora and Ulta began to bring so many colors into my world as options.
I only have half of my thyroid, so I follow thyroid patient activists Mary Shomon and Janie Bowethorpe. Perfect color and skin care is effective matters to me, but so does getting products with less and less chemicals in them as well. For my health and the health of the environment.
I am very intuitive and sensitive to energy. So, I will notice if a product has good "energy". That means that is has better ingredients and most likely the company treats its employees better and sources its materials in a more fair trade way. I can feel that in some Lush products and some Aubrey products.
Also, beauty is like therapy for me. And way better than the traditional therapy. Art and color therapy are valid forms of psychotherapy. So this is not frivolous. Color can have a huge effect on one's mood. And I get to use that $28 build-able lip gloss in the perfect shade of coral over and over and over. It makes me WAY happier than some expensive session with a therapist! And cost effective too! That's how I justify my 20 or 30 pound makeup bag anyway (not counting skin care...). :-)
Last but not least, we must always remember, as my grandmother would say, "Beauty is as beauty does." So, we have to remember to be beautiful on the inside, as well as out.
Peace, Roszel
