The first primer I tried was UDPP but never really fell in love with it (hated the genie bottle) so never made a habit out of using primer. I love using neutral eye shadows but I grew tired of them not showing up well and decided to use a primer again. I decided to try Shadow Insurance because many reviewers found it much easier to blend shadows with this primer than UDPP, and it works like a dream. Love that it's a compact product and you definitely don't need much for it to work. A tiny dot is really enough to cover the entire lid, so it's really well worth the money.

I've always wanted to try their studio powder brush which had AMAZING reviews. But after going to my local Target and finding them always sold out, I decided to give this set a try out of curiosity (this 11 piece set was only $30 and has everything you need). All the brushes in the kit were all very well made and very practical and the synthetic bristles do a really good job of blending and distributing product on my face. These brushes also have a quick dry time, which motivates me to wash my brushes more often since I know they won't take forever to dry. Highly recommend!

Since my lips always dry out and crack no matter how much water I drink, I'm always on the lookout for lip balms that promise everything and more. This lip treatment is hands down, the best balm I've ever tried/used and I love it to death. The treatment goes on smoothly with a silky texture, but it's still moisturizing enough to rehydrate" my dry lips in a short period of time. One thin swipe and my chapped lips revert back to supple and moist lips. It's amazing for smoothing out lip lines before applying gloss or lipstick, and I've bought this treatment as gifts for family friends – it's THAT good.

I have combination skin and this worked really great for the oily areas. HOWEVER, sometimes my nose flakes a little when it's dry and this pore paste only emphasizes the dryness instead of covering the pores. I've tried a pore paste from Asian cosmetic brand Sofina a few years back and it wasn't as drying as this one, but it was harder to apply. So I guess you win some you lose some.

A Benefit MUA put this gloss on me when I was receiving a complimentary makeover, and as I was walking around the store afterwards I got tons of compliments on the gloss. I'm usually not a lip gloss girl --most of them dry my lips out-- but like other reviewers, I found that the consistency of the gloss really nice. It applied smoothly and was not too sticky, kept my lips moisturized since they didn't dry out or flake when I wear it for a night out. Based on that alone the product is worth at least 8 stars, and 1 more for the unique iridescent cool-hued purple. It didn't make my lips look overly cool and zombie-like and worked well with my naturally darker lip color.

I've always had a problem with my wiry hair. It takes forever to grow (It took 5 years for my previous chin-length bob to FINALLY grow into a mid-back length) but always managed to be shiny. Many of the hair products I've looked at seem to only address the lack of shine or the dryness of the hair, but never really the texture. Since the pequi oil had so many glowing reviews about how SOFT, SUPPLE and SHINY it made other women's hair, I went ahead and bought it from Sephora's site for $35. Though the price is a bit steep, a little goes a long way with this product. I use 2-3 pumps before blow-drying and the results are smooth and soft every time. I've been using the product consistently for a month now and it still looks like I've barely used any product.

Scandal Queen caught my eye from the February Sephora catalog because of its unique packaging. The curved edamame pod-like wand is something I've never seen before and so I decided to give it a try immediately. As an Asian cosmetics fanatic, I also couldn't resist trying Scandal Queen since Fairydrops is one of Japan's best selling mascaras… The packaging suggested that a lash curler would not be needed (this formula is supposed to be that curling) so I tried it out. The results were unexpectedly good, but I still prefer to use a lash curler along with mascara since I naturally have downward slanting lashes and need all the extra help I can get. Scandal Queen lengthens and defines my lashes beautifully, does not flake, and can be easily removed with lukewarm water.
