I'm not quite sure what Herbal Essences was trying to accomplish when they made this finishing cream. HE boasts that these products are for all hair types. I beg to differ. I have African American hair, all natural with no chemicals and quite manageable. This mousse did nothing for me but allow me to pull my hair back into a sleeker ponytail.

Unilever has just released these new Q-tips vanity packs available in four designs that are great for sitting on your counter tops or vanity areas. While these new vanity pack cases are more attractive than the traditional box of Q-tips I'm not in love with the designs as much as I would be if they had more contrasting designs and were a different shape. The boxes are just little square boxes that have a slide out drawer. Convenient but not all that innovative. If I were Unilever, I would have designed the new Q-tips cases in maybe a pentagon shape with a pop up dispenser. Well, that's just me because I think if you are going to release a product on the market to rival competitors - for people to add to their beauty and vanity tables, it should be cutesy but also something that stands out. True enough, there isn't another cotton swab on the market that can match that of Q-tips quality but I still think it's a great idea to differentiate Q-tips even further by offering an innovative design. I would have also made the designs sharply contrast each other. Maybe one case with circle designs or rainbow colors on it. This way you have a nice variety for people to choose from. However, I'm not the product manufacturer so if I had to choose from one of the four designs it would have to be the orange and gold one because it matches my vanity area perfectly since I have a golden armoire. Of course my daughter chose the red one since it's her absolute fav color!

I am very impressed with Clinique's Even Better Skin Tone Corrector. This product is packaged in a sleek bottle as all of Clinique's products tend to be. I have always liked this line due to it being great for sensitive skin as my own. So far this product is working quicker than anticipated. I've only been using this skin tone corrector for a few days to correct some old acne blemishes around my jawline. I am amazed at how my skin is getting softer and the blemishes are already beginning to lighten up. This is especially amazing because I have darker skin. I will continue to use this product and look forward to additional results. I would give it a 10 but I've not yet achieved my desired results.

ChapStick new True Shimmer lip balm is available in a variety of flavors which I have been trying for the last week or so. I've used 4 flavors: Blended Fruit Sherbert Peppermint Rush Tropical Botanical Berry I always like to begin every product evaluation with the positives because I prefer to operate from the saying, "See the glass half full, not half empty... or something like that!" There are a couple of things I like about this product. Like I mentioned in one of my other reviews, I look for usability, likability and staying power (and ingredients). Well, I not only like the flavors of the ChapStick True Shimmer lip balm, I love that it tastes really good! The flavors are sooo good and this new version of ChapStick provides long lasting moisture for the lips and it's not real geasy. I'd also like to not that the product packaging is very attractive - not upscale but down to earth and friendly looking. There are TWO things I don't like about this product. One is that the shimmery effect actually makes my lips appear a little ashy. I believe the reason is my complexion which is a bit of a bummer as I believe products should be constructed to accommodate all skin tones. If you have a lighter skin tone you won't have this problem. The second and most important reason for me is that this product contains parabens and paraffin which are ingredients I like to avoid due to the potential for them to cause health problems after prolonged use. The ingredient list states that there are only 1% of parabens in the product but I prefer to use products with 0% of it. Therefore, I won't continue use of this product. However, some people don't care if their skin care products contain these ingredients. To each his own. So my suggestion for wearing the ChapStick True Shimmer if you don't mind the ingredients is: For Medium to Darker Skin: Apply ChapStick True Shimmer under lipstick for extra moisture For Lighter Skin: Apply as recommended above or wear alone for a nice subtle shimmer.

I'm really surprised the product got such a low rating from a lot of people. Well, like I mentioned in my review of L'Oreal's HIP Color Presso lip gloss, I use a specific criteria to evaluate just about any beauty product. Aside for a product's particular features such as ingredients and package design, I use real practical evaluators to help me decide if a product is a "No" or a "Go." This is my 50 cents worth: This Eyeliner is so easy to apply, I couldn't believe how easy. I usually have to line my eye more than once to get a dark enough line to my liking. The Kohl Eyeliner is probably one of the best liners I've ever used. It applies better than an average liquid liner. My only usability critique is that the applicator tip could be softer. If you're like me and apply your eyeliner to the inner rim of the bottom lid, then you could appreciate what I mean. This eyeliner is absolutely gorgeous against my brown skin. It gives a beautiful gold shimmery tone in one fell swoop. No negatives for likability here. As for staying power, The Kohl Eyeliner gets an "A". I tend to rub my eyes during the day (working on the computer all day) but the eye liner is still holding on by end of day. I realize others my have a different opinion of this product but I have to say that if nothing else, you HAVE to get the gold Kohl Eyeliner (just be soft handed putting it on). I didn't even think I would like how this eye liner would look on me but I am really feeling it minus it's one negative.

Aside for a beauty product's particular features such as ingredients and package design, I use real practical evaluators to help me decide if a product is a "No" or a "Go." Those evaluators would be: - Ease of Usability - Likability and - Staying Power For ease of usability, the Presso Lip Gloss is easy to use but the applicator tube is a bit messy after dispensing the two colors. Sure, the gloss glides on easily enough but when mixing the two colors, I notice I have to wipe the applicator tip off after each use, which I never had to do with my other glosses. The one difference I notice between my other lip gloss applicator and the Presso Lip Gloss' applicator is the slope of the tip. My suggestion to L'Oreal would be to maybe lengthen the applicator tip a bit. Perhaps, that will make the application less messy. For likability, while the Presso lip gloss appears in pretty bright shades in the tube, it doesn't deliver a satisfying amount of color. It may be because I have darker skin but even still. I've used other glosses in similar colors that delivered a much deeper color to my lips. What I can appreciate about the gloss is while it doesn't deliver much color, it does offer a nice shimmery look and it doesn't have that waxy taste that some lip glosses possess. Alas, Staying Power: L'Oreal's Presso Lip Gloss get an "A-" from me. I don't know of any lip gloss that stays on all day. I mean after all, you do have to eat right? It does however last between meals so that's why I give it a pretty high staying power rating. My overall opinion of the Presso Lip Gloss is somewhat positive. I rate it a 7 1/2 out of 10 but the system only allows me to rate it a 7 or an 8. Not quite an 8 though..
