Even when I would pay a hairstylist $124 or more to color my hair they always ended up using two bottles! It could be because I wasn't trying to change the color, just hide the gray at the temples (if I was a guy I'd be DISTINGUISHED, but as a women it is just GRAY). I used the medium brown and no one could even tell I dyed my hair it was such a great match and left the natural tonal variations in my hair. That was such a wonderful surprise.

I purchased this product at Costco. It lasted such a long time because you don't need much to get a good lather (even with my overly thick and coarse hair) and the generous Costco containers made it a good value. It really worked well with the same branded conditioner. The only caveat is that I have sensitive eyes since lasik surgery and just a speck of the shampoo will make them puffy and red.

Warning: I am not your average head of hair! My hair is so thick and unruly that I truly use a handful of conditioner each time I wash my hair just so I can run a comb or brush through it. That being said, this conditioner worked well. Did what I needed it to do, make it so I could comb/brush my hair and make it smell terrific. Note: I have NEVER had a conditioner that made my hair look greasy or weighed down but that is because I have alot of bouncy (not curly) hair that is a bit on the dry side. If your hair doesn't sound like that DO NOT use a handful :)
