Matrix Biolage Scalpsync Cooling Mint Shampoo

Great for Extremely Oily & Colored Hair

I would only recommend this as a daily shampoo/conditioner to those with extremely oily scalp/roots. I have normal/oily colored hair, I after I used this shampoo for 2 weeks straight, I developed dandruff because my scalp was so dry. My friend, whose hair is much oilier than mine (and also colors), uses it every other day and found it has the right balance for her. The mint scent is a good pick me up in the morning and it's gentle enough to remove product buildup without stripping color.

  • The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash

If a plant-laiden scent doesn't phase you, you're in the clear (literally) with this product. It doesn't have a chemical smell, but it's also not perfumey like other cleansers. Because this has a TEa Tree Oil base, it's very effective at removing eye makeup (and all other kinds!). I noticed right away that my oiliness decreased. I'm not sure if my blemishes went down b/c of this or the other products I was using. Regardless, a little drop will do you, and it lathers up nicely (which makes it ok to pay over $10 for cleanser). It's also very effective as a weekly body wash if you have back breakout or anything else, as it is a natural antiseptic.

  • Garnier Color Breaks

    Garnier Color Breaks

    Impossible!

Unless you hair a professional hairdresser painting these on, it's nearly impossible to get them even. I used this and other "paint on" kits, and the problem is 1) You can't get even placement, 2) It's hard to gauge how much hair you're actually paiting onto, and 3) Without a cap or foils, the bleach gets on the rest of your hair, leaving you with a cheetah-esq look. Even though they seem archaeic, I reccomend using the caps for at home bleaching.

  • Suave Naturals Daily Clarifying Shampoo

I've been using this for YEARS. At first I tried to use it daily or every other day, and quite frankly, it's just too harsh. I have thick, wavy, hilighted hair and the cleansing power wreaked havoc on my color. I then switched to using it once a week IF I've been using product that week or swimming. I find that it does the trick for getting rid of buildup weekly (if not less), unless you hair extremely oily hair or a ton of product buildup daily, then it's ok.

  • KMS California Color Vitality Blonde Treatment

This is one of the few blonde treatment products I've found that is actually purple to counteract brassy colors. It has a light scent to it and was reasonably priced. However, it tells you to put the product on dry hair. In order to do that I had to use almost a quarter cup of it! I first tried a silver dollar size amount and that barely covered the front sections of my hair. I also tried it on damp hair, as it was easier to comb through (thus using less), but it didn't moisturize as well and it dripped out). If you hair longer than shoulder length I'd keep searching, otherwise you'll be replacing this every 2 weeks.

  • Avon Imari Seduction Eau De Toilette

The first time I smelled IMari Seduction, it was out of the catalogue. I thought it smelled close to Euphoria (by CK) and was amped because this was half the price. When I received the perfume, I again sniffed the bottle. It didn't smell bad, but definately like a $20 EDT. After I wore it for one day I had alcohol stains on my clothes, and none of the perfume remained on me. It takes on a musty rubbing alcohol smell within the first hour of spraying.

  • Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer

Fearing I'd have resort back to having crunchy curls from using gel/mousse/spray, I invested in this product. It comes out in a glob but goes on light, has a fresh scent, and managed to define my curls, stop frizz and give my hair a little spring without making it hard or too full. The price is a little steap, as are all Aveda products, but Be Curly is gentle enough to use on chemically processed hair and won't affect the color of dry it out more (from alcohol).

  • CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Liner

I would only reccomend this first time liner users. It's fairly mistake proof, but you're commited to a one-size width in the line you draw. Also, the color doesn't come out as intense as other liquid liners.

  • Mary Kay Velocity Facial Cleanser

This is a good product for normal-slightly oily skin. It you suffer from frequent breakouts (like I do) or have sensitive skin (as I do too), I wouldn't reccomend this. It has a slight perfumey smell that irritated my skin and it overdried areas, so I had dry skin buildup which caused more breakouts. If you want a MK product targetted for acne, I would choose the Oil Free Timewise cleanser or the Acne Cleanser.

  • Burt's Bees Lip Gloss

    Burt's Bees Lip Gloss

    Longest living pot gloss EVER

This gloss pot has lasted me over 2 years. I shouldn't really say gloss though. It gives the same sheen as a normal chapstick, but last 10 times longer and isn't sticky at all. It comes in atleast 3 flavors that I know of, and it's really good on chapped winter lips. The bonus is that it's fairly cheap too considering it can last years. I'm only deducting stars because it doesn't go on glossy like it says.
