    Dove Invisible Solid Deodorant

    pretty darned good

As far as anti-perspiration and deoderant action, this one is fantastic, plus it comes in a number of great scents. No invisible is truly invisible, I've found, but this one is pretty darned good. Great feel on my armpits, and a great price. Plus has matching body mists! Good product.

  • Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve Tin

This balm goes with me everywhere. I love the neutal fragrance and flavor and the feel is perfect - not too thick, not too oily, not sticky. I also smooth it on my cuticles once in a while and they definitely are softer. Great worn alone or under lipglosses, or on top of them. Simple, versatile, classic.

  • Maybelline New York Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Washable Mascara

I always hated putting mascara on my lower lashes, but this tiny little brush finds all of them without smearing onto my lower lid and undereye area. The formula wears well and the color is true. I certainly don't use this for the whole eye, but to really get the lower lashes and lashes in the corner of the eye this is fantastic!

  • Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - Normal

I've used this off an on for years, kind of like a backup for when my favorite moisturizers are running low, or just to switch things up. I just don't like the texture, and after a couple of days in a row of using it, my combination skin feels oily all over and like there's a film on it. It is cheap and does moisturize, but it's only an understudy in my regime, not the star.

  • BareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

My mom (in her mid-50's) introduced me to this and I haven't looked back since. She wears it beautifully, and her lines and oily skin look matte and lovely all the time now (before she had a little bit of a cake-face going). Me, in my mid-late-20's, have combination skin, and had quite a problem with breakouts and redness. This covered it beautifully, and for the first time I began to get compliments on my even skin tone, even when I was breaking out at the time. I love that it has built-in spf, so my moisturizer doesn't necessarily have to have it. It will rub off, but for normal everyday wear, it's fine. (I'll be wearing another foundation for my wedding, for example.) I don't need to touch up during the day, but I do blot once in the afternoon, just to remove some shine from my t-zone, but the makeup still covers after that. Love the coverage, feel, price, and flexibility of this product! My go-to for sure, and for my Mom as well!

  • Bare Escentuals RareMinerals Purely Nourishing Facial Moisturizer

I've only been using this for a few days, but so far, I'm sold! This is so light, and my face feels fresh and moisturized afterward, with only applying a little bit. It is a little expensive but it doesn't take much, so it should last a good amount of time. I hate how greasy other even oil-free moisturizers feel, and this one definitely doesn't feel like that. The packaging is slick, and it has a neutral smell. Definitely worth trying out!

  • Bare Escentuals RareMinerals Renew & Reveal Facial Cleanser

I needed to switch skin care regimes from Proactiv - I had some acne problems in my early-mid-20's that didn't respond to anything else. But now that things have been under control for about a year, I'd grown sick of the constant drying out of salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, not to mention always being afraid I was going to bleach out towels and pillowcases. I've worn BareEscentuals makeup for years and have had no complaints, so after much research and weighing of options, I decided to try the RareMinerals line. I'm only a couple days in, but so far I'm completely hooked! This cleanser is wonderful!! It's fun to mix it up each time in my hands, and I like being able to make it thicker or more watery depending on how my skin's feeling that day. I have combination skin, so having options is a beautiful thing! I don't think it's as cumbersome or complicated as some reviews elsewhere claim it to be (I've used it in the shower and at the sink without incident), and frankly, I don't mind the smell at all. It's not offensive in the least - it may not smell like flowers, but it works, and a little straightforward effectiveness without the added fragrance is luxurious in itself. My skin feels clean and not oily afterward, and its gentle but cleans well. The packaging is slick and the naturalness of the mineral mix feels like a good choice for my skin. It's a little expensive, but I'd rather pay a little bit more for a product that works than mess around with drug store brands that are cheaper and all do the same thing (without really doing it well. I've played around with many before, it's wasteful and annoying). If you want effective, cutting edge, luxurious skin care at at moderate price, this is it!!

Effective blemish control without benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid! A late 20's dream!!!

This has cleared up some small blemishes practically overnight, without drying up the surrounding skin. Yes, it smells a little clinical, but it doesn't offend me in the least, especially if it's going to work. I certainly wouldn't use it as a concealer, since the powder is basically clear once you put it on, and you only need a little. I put it on under the moisturizer morning and night, and in only 3 days, my blemishes are gone. I also dust a little on my nose and forehead in the morning, and I've noticed less oil throughout the day! I'm only giving it a 9 so far, I'll check back in later and comment on long-term use!
