L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Eye Cream

    Surprised at bad reviews

Maybe the formula has changed since people last left these reviews, because for me, this eye cream is great! No tingling, no racoon eyes, no sticky residue, no problems w/ makeup application. I can literally see the cream working. For example - after I wash my face, the skin under my eyes looks dry and crepe-like. When I put the cream on, I can literally see the lines smooth away and my skin soften. Compared to Olay eye cream, I think this works better.

  • Dove Clear Tone Skin Renew Deodorant

I've been using this for exactly one month, and have not noticed any change in the darkness of my underarms. I understand that some products take 6-8 weeks to work, and being as that I have been told my skin is slow to rejuvenate, I'll give it more time to work. I'm thinking about going through two purchases before I completely can say yea or nay. To be continued..

  • Yes To Blueberries Smoothing Daily Cleanser

I purposely went to the store to purchase Yes to Carrots because I wanted to try a new product, but they were out of stock. Not wanting to make a second trip, I bought Yes to Blueberries. What I have found is that it leaves my face feeling like I've slathered lanolin all over it instead of cleansed it. I understand how cleansing 'creams' are different than washes, but this left a thick coating of ????. After I wash, I use one of two toners (Earth Science Clarifying Herbal Astringent or Witch Hazel). Both of which are VERY mild. And every time I do this, there is a layer of dirt, grime and whatever is left on my face from the Yes to Blueberries. I haven't broken out from it and it smells good - thus the 4 stars. However, after I finish the tube I will not buy this again. It was ~$12 at Rite Aid, so I will use it up - and it couldn't happen sooner!

  • St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Wash

This is one of those, 'if it's not broke, don't fix it'. Meaning, whenever I get an inkling to purchase a different body wash, I always regret it and wind up coming back to this specific St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea butter wash. It's scent is light, for both men and women. It doesn't burn those sensitive areas. The price is perfect and a little goes a long way. When I couldn't find it at my regular store, I panicked! But they have since brought it back. I highly recommend this simple, trustworthy product!

  • Freeman Feeling Beautiful Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask

I bought this peel-off mask after reading the reviews of the 'other' Freeman peel-off mask thinking this was the correct one. When I got home and checked, I was disappointed that this was the one with less than stellar reviews, but being the tight wad that I am, I decided to keep it and try it. I found the mask pleasant smelling - not strong or chemical(y). It went on smooth and even. I applied it in long circular motions. I didn't time it, however it was the time it took to change the sheets and put a new duvet on the comforter. It peeled off easily and evenly. It didn not feel like my skin was pulling off with it. The after affects were that my skin was SUPER soft!! I didn't apply my nightly ROC treatments as I felt that might be too much... I just don't know. So I decided to err on the side of caution and just apply Burt's Bee's serum. I will definately use this product as part of my weekly routine. **TIP - It is nearly impossible to avoid hair or eyebrows when applying a peel-off mask. So to solvel the problem, I apply w/out worry, then when dried, I use a eyebrow comb to comb out the dried mask from the little hairs.

  • Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant

I made the change to paraben and aluminum free products as much as I can. I figure little tweaks here and there can't hurt, and hopefully will help. Face and shampoo products are an easy change, but deodarant? Oh my. You don't want to find out the hard way. As a person who sweats at the drop of a dime, or rather, the rise in a few degrees, it is important that my deodarant does the trick.. parabens or not. Tried this, and it worked just fine! It goes on light and kind of sticky (thus the 9 stars) but all in all, it does what I need it to. I have offically changed my deo brand from Secret to Arm and Hammer.

  • Earth Science Cellagen Renewal Serum

I have difficult skin. You name, I have it. My step-daughter works for Earth Science and gave me some freebies. I started using this serum more out of curiosity than anything. What I discovered was that my face seemed to respond to it. Meaning, my make-up looked better, my moisturizer absorbed better, my angry puffiness seemed to relax faster. And my husband of 21 years even made a comment about my face. This is coming from a man who has NEVER complimented anything about my face, hair, clothes, or smell. So this was HUGE! I recently ran out of the serum and after reading reviews on another serum, I bought the other one at the local drug store. Boy, what a mistake. I should have just had a little more patience and ordered the Earch Science online. I highly recommmend this serum!

  • Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Intensive Repairing Serum

After reading all the great reviews, I made a mad dash to my local Rite Aid. That evening, I was so quickly dismayed. Yes, it is a serum. I have been using another 'natural' serum for awhile (but ran out), so I am aware of what a serum is. This however, was too thick and non-absorbent. I wait approx. 20 minutes for it to soak in, so I can apply my night lotion. Even then, my face is a full of a thick layer of gunk, only to come off on my pillow. Good thing there isn't a 'special someone' who is wanting kisses...they'd get a face-ful of grease. I can't say it has done anything special to make me want to see past the negatives. The only thing that warrants a second star is that it smells so good. Like aromatherapy for your face.. which, when on your PILLOW,, continues to smell good. I will finish the bottle only because it was so expensive, but will NOT purchase again.
