After seeing this in Oprah's O-wards, I had high hopes. I picked up Wild Berry Wink, which is actually a slightly blue based red, and seemingly one of the more dramatic shades in this line. When I first drew it onto my lips, I was in love! The color was smooth, bold, and it even smelled good. I ran downstairs to rave to my (completely disinterested) fiance. Then I licked my lips. Not only did 80% of the color disappear from my lips, but it re-located onto my tongue and teeth! I looked as if I'd just drank a gallon of Hawaiian punch! After playing around with different application techniques, I did find that you can get a better stain by blotting the color on and blending it in with a finger, but the color payoff is nothing like that first application, and I would definitely not say it is transfer resistant as the company claims. It looked promising, and turned into the biggest let down EVER!

Influenced by the reputation of the brand name and numerous beauty mag mentions, I ponied up the cash for what I was disappointed to find was suspiciously like the temporary hair color spray we all used to buy for Halloween. The spray we used to pay $3.00 for. Though this spray "powder" did perform as advertised, absorbing excess oil, the red color was a bit too bright and really only blended well on my hair if it was freshly colored- otherwise I looked as if I had a blotchy, botched dye job. It also made my hair incredibly dull looking, which is only slightly better than having unwashed hair. I didn't find it terribly messy, as other reviewers did, but I did have to do a once over to remove the errant specks of red from my face. Overall, not a bad product, but definitely not worth the price (especially considering that I got fewer than 10 uses out of the large can.) Cut the price by $25.00 and I'd use it again, otherwise, I'm keeping my eyes open for another option on lazy days.

As I said, great if you like stains. The colors are meant to give an "i just ate a popsicle" look, and, by definition, aren't blendable, yet I have found you can layer them to customize the color. Use the pen as a liner first, then fill in to ensure even coverage. Having said that, this doesn't grab on to dry spots like other stains I've used, and stays on quite well. I only wish there were more colors! To the user who had problems returning her product, I was a manager with the company for years and as long as you bought it in store (on-line and catalogue orders have to be sent back) and you had a receipt, you should have had no problem returning your product- I'd suggest you ask to speak to a manager or ask for the customer service number if that fails.

I purchased the 3 step system after reading an article in a well known beauty mag in which a famous starlette said that with all of the hair coloring she has to do for movies, she believed this saved her hair. I used the products exclusively for several weeks, and the product actually seemed to make my hair worse. I finally stopped using all 3 products after my hair began breaking when I'd brush it. For over $60.00 for the "system" I expected much more, but I disliked this product so much I didn't even finish the bottles!
