  • Aubrey Organics E Plus High C Roll On Deodorant

I have this deodorant, and I'm not quite sure what to think of it. I have never suffered from sweaty pits in my life so I don't really need anything that cuts it down and as far as I can tell and have been told, my sweat doesn't really smell like anything (unless I have been doing bootcamp-rough exercising for hours and not taken a shower). The reason I'm using any deodorant at all is really just to see if I sweat less (not very pretty to have sweat stains when you're wearing white in the summer, even if they're really small) if I do. I feel like I *do* sweat less when I wear this but it doesn't inhibit sweating. My sister's tried it as well and she suffers from bad BO and she sweats a lot more than me, she said this didn't cut it but she's basing that solely on the fact that it doesn't stop her from sweating. It isn't supposed to, really, I find that it lessens the amount of sweat I secrete though from my armpits, and that's something.

  • Yarok Feed Your Volume Conditioner

Vegetable emulsifying wax sounds so pure and natural, be warned: it's not. Sadly I discovered this AFTER I had purchased this conditioner. I had already bought it so I thought I might as well try it. I've used it several times now and it's not performing well. It beats the Weleda Oat Conditioner but any conditioner would, ha! I honestly thought Yarok would be worth the money, at least results-wise because it is SO hyped up on the internet! I was severely disappointed. If you want true moisture, moisture that actually penetrates your hair shaft and leave it softer withing minutes, go for Aubrey Organic's Honeysuckle Rose conditioner! I've tried that and I can attest that it is absolutely incredible. Do NOT buy this conditioner if your hair is like mine: quite dry but not alarmingly, feels hay-ish if you don't use the best products, splits a little... I'm sorry to say it but I wouldn't recommend this unless your hair is one that can take a beating, it's either too weak or it doesn't penetrate the hair shaft... I don't know, it sucks for me at leat.

  • Yarok Feed Your Volume Shampoo
    4.0

    Yarok Feed Your Volume Shampoo

    Hyped up - disappointed

I am extremely cautious and suspicious when I look at products, it is of utmost importance to me that the ingredients are not harmful in any way. I was on the fence about this shampoo when I headed over to Yarok's website and read that it supposedly had "coco betaine" in it, which upon googling a bit I found was just a synonym to cocamidopropyl betaine (voted allergen of the year in 2004). I e-mailed them, concerned and asking why such a green company would include that in their product. They responded that it was one of their ingredients "lost in translation" when they decided to put INCI names on their website instead of just descriptive, American words. I'm not sure if they are telling the truth... It might be that I'm overly suspicious, but I do feel like there's something synthethic in this, it could be all in my head but I do feel slightly itchy on my hands right after I've shampooed my hair. Oh well, onto the actual feel and performance. This shampoo spreads exceptionally well, if you are transitioning from SLS-shampoos, the switch to this won't leave you wishing for anything. The only difference is that there'll be no excess lather with this, it lathers sufficiently though to give you that ease of use you're accustomed to. I find it quite drying... So drying that I would not buy this again, my hair feels straw-ish after using this and I don't like it, I've used better natural shampoos (Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle). Basically what this shampoo's got going for it is the exceptional ease of use. I would only recommend this if your hair doesn't require some kind of moisture.

  • Sundried Green Clay Mask

This is a really great mask! :) It's good at removing toxins and you feel noticeable clearer after using this. It has reduced the size and color of pimples and although it won't perform miracles, this baby is a force to be reckoned with :) I've talked to Akamuti and they say that their chocolate mask is better targeted at treating pimples so when my jar runs out I'll buy that kind instead :)

  • Yarok Feed Your Roots Mousse

Unfortunately this won't turn thick hair into a voluminous "mess" of lovely. I bought it and really hoped I'd be able to achieve whatever level of volume I'd want (kinda like building up on it) but I can't get any more volume than "better than limp" when it's a day or two after wash day. I haven't tried it on freshly washed hair but I suspect that I might get a tiny bit more volume then. It's alright though, the ingredients are awesome and although it can't create a wow-factor for my heavy hair, it CAN save my hair from looking like a cow has licked it to my head and making it look alright instead :) If you have fine hair this would be an awesome purchase, I have let two people with fine, thin hair try this out and this works tremendously for them. It won't weigh down your hair AT ALL :) My rating is not totally reflective of how good this product is in general, it's just a reflection of how good it works on me and how it met my expectations. This is a good product. Btw, it's awesome for smoothing down fly-aways on a busy morning when your hair looks like sh*t and is super-oily and you have no time to wash your hair, you only have time to put it up in a ponytail. When my hair hasn't been washed for a while I ALWAYS have flyaways no matter how hard I try when I put it up in a ponytail so this has been a huge relief!

  • The Body Deli Blueberry Fusion Scrub

The first time I used this, I looked like I had had a trip to Ibiza and forgot to bring sunscreen with me. RED RED RED! That was entirely my fault though, well, partially (there were no clear instructions). Apparently, you should wash this off IMMEDIATELY after applying it. It feels crazy, I know, because I was thinking "how much could it accomplish in a minute?". Umm, A LOT! There's three types of acids in this and they really do work the second you put the scrub on your skin. This is a chemical scrub, not a mechanical one so whatever you do, DON'T RUB YOUR SKIN WITH THIS! I left this on for 7 minutes the first time I used it and the second time I left it on for 2 minutes (it probably took two minutes to apply it as well). Don't leave it on, a minute tops if you do it anyway! I still got red, not to the same extent but still. My skin feels smoother after using this and it reduces pore size. A little goes a long way so don't be scared by the price, I use like a fifth of a teaspoon and that IS enough!

  • Akamuti Organic Facial Mist

This is one of those luxury products, not because it makes a huge difference appearance-wise, but because of how it feels :) Spraying rose water and orange water on your face just feels like an amazing treat! I usually spray this on my face before I apply coconut oil to it and it *does* help the oil sink in a little more quickly. So yes, it does have a function but using regular ol' water would work just fine for that purpose as well. Would it feel as good? Nope :) Overall I'm happy with it because it's quite cheap and it lasts for a long while. Although it's not a miracle worker it can lift my spirits a little and that must count for something, huh?

  • Akamuti Rose Berry Eye Revitaliser

This eye oil works beautifully. It has this roll-on applicator and I like that feature a lot, it means you can have it in your bag and apply it easily without having to mess with pouring the right amount and etc. Before using this, I had two lines under my eyes, now I only have one :) Doesn't that speak for itself? It has actually removed a line because of how moisturising it is. It's not heavy though like beeswax would be for example, not THAT kind of heavy, it's heavy for an eye moisturiser though, but in the right way! It's light enough to penetrate the delicate skin but rich enough to make a difference :) You do get a little shiny when you put this on as adviced (instructions on Akamuti's website) but I've found that just lightly rubbing your finger along where you've put it like 2-3 times gets rid of that and you still have a proper amount of oil there to get the job done :) After swiping with my finger like I said, the oil sinks in very quickly, at least it's not visible to the naked eye which is important when you're on the go! :)

  • Akamuti Olive & Avocado Night Cream
    7.0

Akamuti Olive & Avocado Night Cream

Not as expected but great either way

This face cream is extremely heavy, be warned. If you're constantly searching for heavier face creams, this might be for you. My particular skin doesn't benefit from this though because my skin type is normal/oily (erring more on the normal side) and I didn't know it would be this waxy. This definitely can only be used as a night cream to sink in for 8 or more hours because you'd be leaving home looking like someone smeared butter all over your face if you'd leave with it on in the morning. I've found this cream very helpful for whenever some part of my face is flaking (sometimes during the winter my nose gets super dry) but I've found it to be excessive even for night-use for me. The quality of the product though is excellent, you should just be aware of what it's like so you won't get super-disappointed.

  • Akamuti Organic Honey & Chamomile Lip Balm

This lip balm is fantastic! I live in Scandinavia where the weather can be really harsh (I live near the coastline) and the wind is unbearable when it's below 0 degrees Celsius because it feels so much colder because of it. I used to suffer with cracked lips that bled and stung but using this once a day has saved my poor lips and they're very soft when I stick to it (I can be a bit lazy and skip it for 5-7 days). I can't really compare it to anything but my lips sometimes feel dry-sticky, I can't really explain it but... My lips are moisturised but the actual product has dried up so it feels sticky yet dry. I will say though that this happens fewer times than it doesn't. It happens whenever the weather is really, really cold and dry. Most of the time it feels awesome! You never get that white, disgusting thing at the edge of your mouth, your lips just look soft and shiny :) As you wait for it to dry a little, the shine goes away so if you're not into the shiny look: don't worry.
