  • RoC Multi Correxion LIFT Anti-Gravity Serum

I'm not sure but I ~just~ got a free one from Ulta when I purchased another RoC product. For what it's worth, I started breaking out a couple days after I started using it (only 1x a day). This was really strange because I ~never~ have breakout issues with products. I stopped using it and allowed my skin to clear before trying it again, thinking it may have been a fluke. Nope. 2 more days and my skin was breaking out again. Throwing it out.

  • L'Oreal Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eye Liner

What I love: The tip of this liner really is thin, I have never been able to get such a thin, precise, line so close to my lash line before. The formula is long-wearing (with a primer [UDPP] 8-12 hours); the finish is a rich black that dries with a satiny-matte finish. The packaging is clever, very thin and easy to take with you. I also like the fact that it applies evenly without having to re-wet the tip. What I didn't love: The tip pulls so it does skip, which makes smooth lines and cat eyes a challenge. Without a primer, it smudged and transferred within 1-2 hours. Overall, I like this liner a lot. It takes a steady hand and bit of practice to get around the skipping but once I got the hang of it, it was fine. I’m taking off points because of the pulling/skipping and because I needed a primer for it to last.

  • imPRESS Press-On Manicure

I like this product. They're much easier than painting my nails every couple of days and they never chip. It wasn't obvious that I was wearing fake nails (the patterned ones were a little obvious) because they have a thin appearance, yet they're durable; I could still function without worrying about them popping off. A couple of them did start to peel after a few days but it was minor. If I hadn't taken them off at that point, I probably could have pulled them off for another couple days.

  • Benefit They're Real Lengthening Mascara

I have been meaning to purchase this product for a while to see if it lived up to the hype. I’ve heard mixed reviews, some saying it was wet and clumpy, others raving and saying they’d found their HG mascara. Everyone has different styles and expectations when it comes to mascara. My natural lashes are already long and full so I like mascara that doesn’t make them look too dramatic, at least during the day. That being said, I love this mascara. It makes my eyelashes look so much longer and fuller! It is really black, so very dramatic, but my lashes look so great that I’ve been wearing it everyday anyway. Here’s the breakdown. Pros: Amazing length and volume, makes me look like I have extra lashes; lasts all day with no flaking or racoon eyes (even after several hours outside in Tampa humidity); holds a curl all day; color is a sooty, genuine black. Though it goes on thick, the brush is such that it’s not messy and doesn’t get all over my lids. Cons: Brush is prickly and uncomfortable to use (it stabs me); can clump and cause lashes to stick together (I just use an eyelash comb to separate my lashes while they are still wet). It’s not the kind of mascara I would layer coats with because lashes get spidery; leaves lashes feeling stiff. Bottom line is the pros outweigh the cons with this one. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for long full lashes that last all day. It gets 9 out of 10 stars (I'm taking off 1 star because it takes a little work to separate lashes after applying).

  • L'Oreal Paris Magic by Studio Secrets Skin Beautifier BB Cream

This is my favorite drugstore bb cream, it is the only drugstore option I've found that is more than a tinted moisturizer. Pros: Micro-beads that adjust well to skin tone, offering coverage for more skin tones. Shine control is better than any other drugstore bb. Light, but decent, coverage. It evened and smoothed my complexion. No noticeable oxidation. Didn’t cause breakouts. Cons: Micro-beads are a little scratchy when first applied. No noticeable above average moisturizing benefits. Does not contain SPF. I haven’t noticed any particular “over time" skin improvement.

  • NYX Cosmetics NYX Liquid Black Liner

I have these liners in black and brown. This is a rich and pigmented liner with a long thin brush that makes precise lines a breeze. The formula goes on in a way that makes you think the finish would be watery but it’s not, it does dry with a sheen though. This liner is probably the easiest one I own for fixing mistakes because it doesn't smear everywhere when I try. The staying power is excellent. I always use a primer but this stuff didn’t budge even without one and I noticed no flaking or smudging throughout the day. My cat eye wings did deteriorate by the end of the day but that was probably from my bad habit of rubbing at the corners of my eye.

E.L.F. Earth and Water Mascara Duo

    Not bad for a dollar

I received this free with a promotion elf was running in April. I love elf but have to admit, their products can be hit or miss. I wasn’t expecting much from this product as I’m not a fan of elf’s regular line, I prefer the better quality of their Studio line. Also given some of the negative reviews I’ve read, I probably never would have purchased this on my own. I was pleasantly surprised by this product. First of all the design is brilliant (both a regular and waterproof for 50 cents a piece? What?). The formula goes on evenly with no clumps. The brush is small (similar to Maybelline’s Great Lash) so it is great for more natural looks and getting at small corner and lower lashes. I didn’t get a lot of volume from this mascara but it did give me length; I don’t mind this because I don’t always want big lashes if I’m going for a more natural look. It didn’t leave my lashes too stiff (though the waterproof was obviously a little stiffer than the regular). The waterproof mascara was sufficiently waterproof but I only wore it on regular days and only tested it by splashing water on my face (no sweating or water park trials). The color is a real black but not ultra black so again, better for less dramatic looks. It also held a curl well. Overall, it is a great product for the price ($1) and though I wouldn’t say the formula offers anything uniquely special, the price and design certainly do. I’d say this is another elf hit. If I repurchased, it would be for the design and price, maybe as a backup for my handbag so I wouldn’t have to carry two mascaras. I should note that there are a lot of complaints online about this mascara drying out really quickly, though that has not happened to me.

  • Maybelline New York Volum' Express The Mega Plush Waterproof Mascara

I’m a fan of the Maybelline Volum’ Express line and aside from Clinique High Def, they’re probably my favorite mascaras. I’ve been meaning to try their gel-mousse formula, Mega Plush, and see what all the hype was about. So on my last trip to Ulta, I picked up the waterproof version in black-brown. From the Maybelline website: Our first gel-mousse mascara with 40% less hard waxes for massive volume with a supple touch Extra-soft, patented Flexor Brush caresses lashes Lashes never brittle or flaky Available in washable and waterproof formulas This mascara is my new go-to for minimal makeup days, knocking Great Lash out of first place. It makes my lashes look long and wispy, but natural, with no raccoon eyes, clumps or flaking. Maybelline claims the gel formula leaves lashes soft but the waterproof version left my lashes a little stiff (since that is pretty typical for a waterproof mascara, I didn’t subtract points). I don’t know about the washable formula but this one held a curl well. I don’t like the "Flexor" brush though. It is springy and wide, so I had to be careful not to hit my bottom lashes and get it everywhere. I probably wouldn’t use this mascara with a more dramatic looks but on those “no makeup-makeup" days, this one is a must for me.

  • E.L.F. Eye Shadow Brush

I'm shocked to see the great reviews for this brush, I had to throw it out. It shed like crazy and the bristles weren't soft at all. I find that with all of elf's Essential line though.

  • Sephora Medium Rounded Crease Brush

I use this crease brush a lot, it's one of my favorites for more subtle crease shading. It gives a nice diffused application, which makes it great for daytime makeup looks.
