Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips

May upset sensitive stomachs

Listerine Strips work as promised, but the hydrogen peroxide seemed to upset my stomach, same as the Listerine Whitening Rinse had done. Too bad - wish I could use these. Also, I found using one strip each on top and bottom covered the teeth that need whitening and was a lot easier to apply.

Conair Super Clips

So much better than the clips that come with heat rollers

Yes, they take up extra space (I keep mine in a plastic basket), but they work - unlike the metal pin fasteners provided. With Conair Super Clips, you don't need three hands to fasten your rollers. Downside: One size fits only the large rollers - there's an overbite on the medium and small sized rollers

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Curl & Shine Shampoo

Curl AND Shine - together at last

I always found that curl shampoos left my hair dry and wiry, while shine shampoos flattened out my waves. Garnier Fortifying Curl & Shine Shampoo immediately enhanced my waves while making my hair smooth and shiny. Very glad I tried it.

Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick

"Like buddah" but ...

Gorgeous perfect colors, pleasant satiny texture, no "lip-stink" smell, even has a nice-to-hold applicator, but ... gone in 60 seconds (okay, a little longer). I reluctantly gave up this product because I don't live the sort of life that allows me to reapply my lipstick 15 times a day. But if they could cross-breed it with "Long Lasting" I'd love to wear "Praline" again.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

Expensive ... and not worth it

OK, it feels good, helps makeup go on smoothly, etc. But no matter how carefully I apply, this product migrates into my eyes and stings. I found that Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum feels and works just as well, doesn't sting, and costs less than half what I paid for Smashbox Primer. Plus Regenerist Serum doesn't have an annoying loose-fitting top that falls off everytime you pick up the bottle.

Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser

Not just for pimply faced kids

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid, a milder cousin to alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), normally used in products that claim to reduce wrinkles or the signs of aging, and improve the overall look and feel of the skin. (I don't write this stuff, the FDA does.) So if you're past the acne age, but find AHAs too strong for your skin, Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser will do the same trick. Plus I've used this for several years and my skin has never yet gotten "tired" of this cleanser.
