  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo

This review will be similar to the one I did on the conditioner, as I use these together it's impossible to differentiate the combined effect, what matters is that the end result is fabulous. Liz Earle have done it again, created a fab product that makes a noticeable difference almost instantly. I use this with Liz Earle's conditioner for dry and damaged hair and within two washes my hair felt noticeably softer, smoother and shinier. I have only been using this a few weeks and I have already received several comments. My friend who works in a hair salon says my hair looks so much healthier and she wanted to know what my secret was and my boyfriend loves the smell. Not only is it better than any supermarket brand you can buy but it's better than all the premium salon only brands I have bought. Uses only natural ingredients, doesn't test on animals, is SLS free, can't ask for anymore really.

  • Burt's Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Conditioner

I have now finished this bottle and can safely say that my hair is dryer than it was when I first started using it. When I first opened it I was concerned as the conditioner does not feel as thick and creamy as most conditioners. Furthermore my hair is much harder to detangle after a shower. I can not recommend this product. The only credit I can give is that it uses natural ingredients and is not tested on animals, hence why I have given it two stars otherwise it would be zero on the basis that it is not fit for purpose.

  • Liz Earle Spot On
    2.0

    Liz Earle Spot On

    Basically... useless

I am a BIG fan of Liz Earle products, for some of them I can never imagine changing. So for me it was an easy decision to buy this Spot-on treatment to treat the occasional spot that I get. Before I bought this I was using Pure Tea Tree oil from the supermarket or a heath store on a cotton bud and applying that to my spots. This actually worked quite well, but I bought the Liz Earle product nonetheless because it was Liz Earle and I assumed it would be equally fantastic to her other products. Well I couldn't be any more disappointed, it basically does nothing to improve my spots let alone get rid of them no matter how much I use. I will be lucky if my spot goes within a week (which is probably the natural life time of a spot anyway) whereas when I was using Pure Tea Tree Oil my spots were drying up quickly and fading away within a couple of days. So as much as I love Liz Earle I really don't recommend this particular product. The only reason I have given it two stars instead of one, is because it is natural and not tested on animals.

  • Biore Blemish Treating Astringent

    Biore Blemish Treating Astringent

If you're looking for gentle, look elsewhere.

This product is fresh, smells good and it no doubt tones. However when I started using this product it was so harsh to my skin that it gave me a significant break out in spots. It took me a while to realise what was causing the break out and it was only when I stopped using the toner that my break out cleated up. The problem with this product is that it is too harsh, if you have dry skin it will even sting. The in I have since started using the Liz Earle toner and I have never looked back. Toners don't get better than that one.

  • Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic

    Perfect in every way!

I came across this toner randomly after looking for a BUAV approved product. I have never looked back. This is very gentle to your skin unlike many toners, smells amazing and feels totally refreshing. Where other toners would bring me out in spots due to their harshness this has had the completely opposite effect. I'm addicted.

  • The Body Shop Liquid Eyeliner

I have been using liquid eyeliner for a few years now, and this is by far the worst one I have used. There are two main reasons for this. First of all it is difficult/messy to apply because it has a thick stubby applicator, meaning that when I'm done I always have to go over it with eye make up remover on a cotton bud to make it look neat. I am used to using thin applicators which not only leave smooth lines because they are more manoeuvrable but they allow you to make them as thick as you want. Initially I thought it would just be a case of getting used to it, which normally for me takes a few days but it has been a few weeks now and it's still not much easier at applying. Secondly, I often look in the mirror and cringe, because either it has smudged a lot or/and I have that awful black goop in the corner of my eye and a lot of it! It just won't stay put, even for a couple of hours. I am yet to find a perfect eye liner but I have bought cheaper eyeliners in the past with far better staying power. I often use Body Shop products and like them but I have found they're make-up to be of poor quality. As for value for money, I would have to say no. I would rather pay more money and get an eyeliner that is not only less hassle but actually stays on.
