Here's the deal, girlfriends, I can't afford a $26 shaving cream. It was a gift. I was totally emo when I scooped the last dollop of cream from the frou-frou jar. This satiny mousse protects and mousturizes, plus it smells so feminine. Truth be told, shaving isn't one of the more girly duties in my toilette. This sweetened the deal and made me feel at least as sexy as Eartha Kitt. Which is why I'm going to be an extra good girl this year so that Santa Baby brings me more Bathina Sweet Satin Shave this Christmas.

If it says "Bumble & Bumble," I buy it. This brand has been taming my tresses for years. The leave in conditioner could potentially eliminate Bad Hair days forever. Now that's something to bumble about!

Please make the burning stop. Has no one learned? The 18th century mademoiselles went mad from their lead-based makeup. Flappers lived in blindness after their eyelashes were dyed. My own mother slept on a head of juice-cans and wire curlers in her youth. Madness! I'd rather inject botulism into my face than endure this prickly venom. Oh wait a minute...

On the first try, the makeup was cakey. On the second try, I could barely see the difference. Then I did what I should have done in the first place - I read the directions. Swirl, then shake off the loose powder. Bella! I would like a slightly larger container to shake the loose powder back into - I cry when I see all that sparkly expensive powder going down the drain. And crying is just not a good look for me.

It looks like an unassuming little blue tube but it's really my fairy godmother, erasing years off my face and coaxing my complexion to make-up-ready perfection. Just two dots smoothed onto either side of my face and my skin is suddenly 16 years old again. My foundation glides on and stays on. My blush takes on a lovely glow. I'm 57 years old and I believe, I do believe, in fairy godmothers!
