  • Philosophy The Microdelivery Daily Exfoliating Facial Wash

This is a great every day exfoliator. It's gentle yet effective. I use this primarily, as well as Philosophy Made Simple and the Microdelivery Peel, depending on how my skin feels each day. Highly recommended if you have sensitive skin.

    Peter Thomas Roth Oil-Free Moisturizer

A great hot weather alternative for me

The only reason I didn't give this a 10 is because it doesn't have sunscreen in it. I normally wouldn't have purchased this on my own as my skin tends to be a bit dry and received this as a sample. In the hot weather, my face can occasionally get uncomfortably sticky and sweaty. This doesn't provide quite enough moisture for me on a day-to-day basis, but I've found a couple of good uses for it. When it's hot and/or humid and I don't plan on going outside (no sunscreen), I use this lotion and find it keeps my skin sufficiently moisturized and much more comfortable (not as sticky or sweaty). It absorbs quickly and feels nice and light. If I plan to be outside, I use my regular moisturizer with sunscreen so I don't have to put 2 layers on (too thick, too hot). Also, when my skin decides to occasionaly act up and break out, I find this seems to help clear things up more quickly than when I wear my regular moisturizer. All in all, this product has been a nice surprise find for me and I highly recommend it.

  • Almay Smart Shade Blush

    Almay Smart Shade Blush

    For a very natural look

My cheeks are usually dry, so I decided to try this gel. I had tried Smashbox's O-Glow gel blush at Sephora, but didn't like the color that developed. I bought this in Natural (020) and love the results. It blended easily into y skin and looked glowy and natural, as if coming from within my skin. This is what I was hoping for! I am very fair skinned, and it's easy to overdo with color, especially with creams. This gel is a sheer, easily buildable color. However, the key to good application is well-moisturized skin. Without it, the product may streak or absorb too quickly. This is definitely a super, inexpensive keeper!

  • Vincent Longo Lip & Cheek Gel Stain

Vincent Longo Lip & Cheek Gel Stain

Beautiful, natural color with LONG wear

I had never tried a lip stain before, and was pleasantly surprised by this one. I bought it in Cupid's Breath and found it gave my lips a nice even, pretty, natural color that stays on for HOURS. What a nice change from lip gloss! (Not that I don't like lip gloss, but the staying power just isn't the same.) Topped with lip balm, for the moisture and sheen I want, I get a beautiful natural look for more casual moods. The color fades evenly and doesn't look obvious as it does. I'll definitely be trying more colors!

  • Nars Blush

    Nars Blush

    Truly for all skin types

I approached this blush with trepidation as I have dry cheeks, and powder blush often sits on my skin and looks flaky. However, NARS' blush is different. Even though it has a slight sheen, it melted into my skin and looked very natural. Now, whether this is because of the formulation or the legendary color that I tried (Org_sm, of course!), I don't know. I do know that I now use it for a pretty, natural glow on my fair skin.

Avon Wrapped in Cashmere Eyeshadow Pencil

    Pretty, but creases quickly

I really liked the colors of this pencil and they were easy to use, but I found the shadow creased very quickly and faded away. Too bad.

  • Spinlash Mascara
    8.0

    Spinlash Mascara

For coated and separated lashes in one step

I just had to try this new mascara "toy." Please note that my high rating has more to do with the actual spinning brush applicator than the mascara itself. I bought it in brown (I'm fair with red hair) and think it does a great job of applying mascara. The spin makes the mascara easy to apply and totally coats all of my lashes. The brush spins slowly and it is in no way intimidating. It seems to stretch my lashes out as the mascara is applied, helping to lengthen them. The best part is that I don't have to bother with a comb after, as it nicely separates each lash as you use it. No clumping! However, I'm not totally thrilled with the mascara formulation it comes with. It didn't really volumize my lashes all that much and gave me a more natural, less glamourous look, probably good for more casual days. BUT, the good news is that you can use the brush with your own mascara! I have yet to try that, and if the spinning brush works well with my favorite mascaras, I'll be in lash heaven!

  • Philosophy The Microdelivery In-Home Vitamin C Peptide Peel

Once you've tried this, you'll never use anything else! This peel is great for sensitive skin (I have rosacea), as you can adjust how hard or lightly you scrub. The ingredients don't irritate my skin, and my face looks so radiant and clear after using it. I can definitely tell if I forget to use it once a week as my skin doesn't look or feel as smooth and soft. Just wish the price was a bit lower.

  • Ojon Shine and Protect Shampoo

I really love this shampoo. First, it smells great. Second, it really does help my hair hold it's color (red, which is SO hard to keep from fading). Third, this is the only shampoo I have used (out of many!) that actually left my hair feeling clean, soft, AND somewhat conditioned, rather than stripped. And that's before using the Shine and Protect conditioner (which is also awesome).

  • Ojon Shine and Protect Glossing Mist

I have used many shine products, but this is by far the best. I have fine, curly hair that refuses to shine on it's own. I spray this directly onto my hair (only 3 sprays or so, or it's too heavy) and my curls gleam beautifully and look natural. With this product I feel like its actually conditioning my hair as well as making it shiny, as opposed to the silicone sprays that just shine.
