I've been a loyal fan of Maybelline cosmetics since my early teens. So, after watching the advertisement for the "Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara", I just knew I had to have it. The commercial was totally hot and I was hooked in seconds. I waited about a week before buying it because I had a few more applications left with my "trusty-can't live without-"Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara." The anticipation was killing me. I couldn't wait to see how long my lashes would be after trying this hot new mascara. Finally, a week went by, I tossed my old tube and headed straight to the drugstore, marched directly to the cosmetics aisle, grabbed my prize, charged it, and rushed home. Okay, so here's my take on this product. As soon as I twisted it opened I was not at all pleased with the shape of the brush. I know for a fact the all women, before applying mascara, sort of wipe the tip of to clear any excess mascara off. Well, I just kept doing that with this mascara. I just kept thinking that there was more product at the tip than I needed. Yes, I knew it was the shape of the wand but some habits are just hard to break. Rather than act insane by repeating this process and not getting anywhere (thinking I could make the tip more pointed or something) I proceeded to apply the mascara. Yes, it does lengthen. Quite well actually. But I prefer my mascara wand to taper at the end. It's takes a bit of careful precision to get to each lash especially on the inner and outer lashes. With the design of the Stilletto wand it's just to wide for my taste. One could easily poke their eye if they aren't careful. It's just too annoying for me. It would be perfect if the end was narrow and more pointed, like the heel of a stilletto maybe.... It does takes some getting used to and you will see length. I really didn't see much difference in the length of my lashes compared to Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara. Which by the way will be my next purchase after this runs out!
